Iranian regime continues to execute pro-democracy protesters

Planet Iran and the Azarmehr blog today reported more sad news coming out of the increasingly hostile and tyrannical Iranian regime. Arash Rahmanipour was a 19 year old student arrested during the uprising in Iran following the fraudulent elections this summer. He was later lumped into a group of pro-democracy demonstrators who stood in front of the Iranian kangaroo courts and were convicted.

arash rahmani8aug

Thursday, Rahmanipour was hanged by the despotic regime for his role in the Ashoura protests just a few months ago. Mind you, he was in jail at the time so the prosecutor concluded that he must have played a role in the massive Ashura protests from his cell.

Rahmanipour and the other man Mohammed Reza Ali Zamani said back in August that they were officially convicted of trying to “topple the Islamic establishment” and for belonging to armed opposition groups that were the enemies of Allah.

Arash Rahmanipours father told the Al-Jazeera news network that he was not informed of his sons hanging until after it had taken place.

He also stated he would not accept condolence, only congratulations for his son being martyred for the cause of freedom. Beautiful strength.

CNN also reported on the hangings and the inconsistency of the Iranian regime. It seems like an arbitrary process of executing its political prisoners is the rule of the day for the despots in Tehran.

UPDATE:

During the Friday prayers, Iranian hardline cleric Ayatollah Ahmadd Jannati declared that more of the opposition protesters should be executed, to show the strength of the Islamic regime.

Speaking in a Friday prayer sermon, Ayatollah Ahmad Jannati said the wave of street demonstrations sparked by the disputed June presidential election would not have lasted until now if protesters had been executed early on.

“Whatever we suffered was because of our weakness. How many did the judiciary execute on July 9?” he said, referring to one of the particularly large protest days.

“We showed weakness, so then we had Ashoura,” he said, referring to a major protest on Dec. 27. “If you show weakness now, the future will be worse … There is no room for Islamic mercy.”

Iran’s judiciary is stepping up death sentences as the leadership intensifies its campaign to eliminate the challenge from the pro-reform opposition movement. Authorities announced Thursday that nine people accused of involvement in protests have been sentenced to death — including five who allegedly had a role in the Dec. 27 protests, which saw a particularly violent clampdown.

Iran’s top prosecutor said a new group of protesters and others would soon be brought to trial.

The two men executed Thursday were arrested before the June 12 election on charges of belonging to an armed group aiming to topple the government. But authorities lumped them in with opposition activists arrested during the postelection crackdown.

In his sermon, aired live on state radio, Jannati thanked Iran’s judiciary chief, Sadeq Larijani, for Thursday’s executions and urged more, saying: “Stand up courageously for the sake of God, the same way you executed these two persons very quickly.”

Krauthammer filets Obama comments on Iran

The response from Fox News pundit Charles Krauthammer to the comments President Obama made regarding the Iranian crisis was anything but complimentary. He chose the words flacid and meaningless as his adjectives to describe the Presidents statement. Check out the rest.

To a degree, Kraut has a point. The words that President Obama used were assertive enough, in my opinion, letting the people on the streets know that America stands with them. What really is gained by starting a war of words with a regime that you are already at odds with on a number of different issues.

iran-eruptsTo come out and call the Ahmadinejad government illegitimate would certainly be a boost to his hawkish credentials (credentials that do not exist actually) but would be foolish in a couple of ways. First of all, it would highlight the fact that he missed his opportunity this summer to be ahead of the curve in not recognizing the government of Iran as legitimate as they had stolen the election. The fraud was rampant and obvious. The repression of the citizenry was broadcasted around the world. Mr Obama missed that moment. What Krauthammer fails to recognize is the success that the Iranian people are having on their own. Frankly they do not need a hawkish Obama to trot around to every available forum, as Kraut suggests, firing off strong language and creating more tension than already exists between the two nations.

We all understand that Iran is not willing to negotiate, talk with, work with or really have any dealing with the United States. Obama failed in his mission to “unclench the fist” of the Iranian government.  They do not want to work with us, period. Should the Iranian government succeed in putting the people down for a second time, he would be locked into a bitter struggle with the Supreme Leader and Ahmadi all the way. There is no way out.

Let the Iranian people work their way through this. They are not afraid of the regime. They are having success, frankly the government is on the ropes at the moment. His words offered up today were plenty in my mind. They show a solidarity with the people of Iran, and still leave open doors toward the future.

Obama sends message of solidarity to Iranian people

Finally, the leader of the free world stands up for the freedom of those brave Iranian citizens. Check out his words today.

A mostly symbolic show of solidarity to the plight of the Iranian people. It showed that we are watching and are supporting as a nation, now officially from the top down, the Iranian dissent that has grown ever more prevalent in the recent few days and weeks.

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, as his usual self, was defiant towards the West declaring that Iran is united.

TEHRAN – President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has warned the West that it must not assume that Iran is a divided society as the country faced some demonstrations following the June presidential election.

“The Western politicians think something happening in Iran and Iran has become weakened. That is a mistake. They do not know Iran. The people of Iran are united and they would certainly defend rights and interests,” Ahmadinejad explained.

The president also added the West must not think that Iran’s position has been weakened in defending its legal rights as it faces some opposition at home by some groups.

“There are different views that exist in this country. There are differences of opinion, there are rivals, competitors and they are serious. But the majority of the nation is united and they are determined to protect their independence,” the president said in an interview with Britain’s Channel 4 News broadcast on Wednesday.

America: Subverting Democracy since 2009

Earlier this summer, the people of Honduras decided to fight for their own democracy. They had lived under the repressive rule of a dictator, and they desperately wanted to keep what they had.

Manuel Zelaya was clearly in violation of the countries constitution by attempting to institute changes in the law that would allow him more than the one-term limit imposed by the law of the land.

In addition, Article 239 specifically states that any president who so much as proposes the permissibility of reelection “shall cease forthwith” in his duties, and Article 4 provides that any “infraction” of the succession rules constitutes treason. The rules are so tight because these are terribly serious issues for Honduras, which lived under decades of military rule.

In response to Zelaya’s backdoor attempt around this article in the Constitution, the military came in and removed Zelaya with cause. Thats the background of the Honduran story. A lawful removal of the President for attempting to subvert the Honduran democracy. The Honduran government took all the steps necessary to do it the right way. They installed an interim President (Roberto Michelletti) and moved on.

michelletti12465948931036753069

chavez_castroThe months since have been a shameful look into the mindset of the current administration. Early on, the administration took an extremely uneducated, dangerous approach to the situation, insisting that Zelaya be reinstated because he was democratically elected. Completely ignored was Zelaya’s actions after being democratically elected.  Obama and Hillary Clinton began taking the wrong-headed approach of aligning themselves with the likes of Hugo Chavez, Evo Morales, Daniel Ortega and Fidel Castro aka the worst of Latin American tyrants. One would remember that Hugo Chavez was brought to power by democratic election, and remains in power today by the same means that Zelaya was attempting to use.  They joined in chorus with these dictators in denouncing Michelletti, stood quietly as the United Nations and other anti-freedom organizations denounced Honduras, and cut off relations with the government of the tiny Central American nation.

In recent weeks, the Obama administration has continued to press forward its anti-democracy agenda in the Western Hemisphere by suspending non-humanitarian aid to the impoverished nation, cutting off most Honduran visas into this country, and stood on the sidelines as they were forced from the United Nations Human Rights Council, by none other than Cuban strongman Fidel Castro. Honduran President Roberto Michelletti stated that he will not be attending the United Nations gathering this week, since he has been unable to get a visa into the United States.  You will notice that the victor in the tainted Iranian election was able to get his visa, despite the obvious election fraud and brutal repression of the Iranian people. Libyan dictator Muamar Quadaffi, fresh off the heros welcome he gave to the Lockerbie bomber was able to get his visa. The other tyrants of the world have received visas and unfettered entrance into this country, yet we refuse to give President Michelletti a way to get to the United Nations General Assembly.

Shameful.

Wait…not done yet.

After meeting last week with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and other U.S. officials, Zelaya warned that time was running out and that if a political solution was not found soon, Honduras would fall into anarchy and chaos.

Once again condemning the June 28 coup in which Zelaya was removed from his home at gunpoint by the military and put on a plane to Costa Rica, Washington cut off all non-humanitarian aid last week and said it would not recognize the results of the Nov. 29 elections under the current circumstances.

The governments of Latin America have also stated that they will not recognize the elections, as has Organization of American States Secretary General José Miguel Insulza and other figures in the international community.

Wouldn’t the  upcoming Honduran election be the end of the story? Manuel Zelaya would not be eligible to run for reelection in this race anyhow, so why would the administration not even recognize an election that could put an end to their stupidly crafted policy against freedom and democracy? By the way, that snippet above was from the Havana Times, Castro’s media mouthpiece. Classic.

Wake up America. We are one crisis away from having our own democratically elected lifetime president in Barack Obama. He cannot be stupid enough to not understand what ACTUALLY happened in Honduras. His policy and mindset indicate his willingness to trash constitutional law in favor of power.

Brzezinski: Take ‘em out

Zbigniew Brzenzski, former national security advisor to failed President Jimmy Carter, suggested this weekend in an interview with the Daily Beast (does anyone actually read the Daily Beast?) that if Israel were to take the step of preemptively protecting themselves against what they felt was an imminent Iranian attack, we should shoot down the Israeli jets over the Iraqi airspace.

the fallout as bad if Israel preemptively strikes Iran?
Absolutely. That is the way, more importantly, how the Iranians would view it. They really can’t do much to the Israelis, despite all their bluster. The only thing they can do is unify themselves, especially nationalistically, to rally against us, and the mullahs might even think of it as a blessing.

How aggressive can Obama be in insisting to the Israelis that a military strike might be in America’s worst interest?
We are not exactly impotent little babies. They have to fly over our airspace in Iraq. Are we just going to sit there and watch?

What if they fly over anyway?
Well, we have to be serious about denying them that right. That means a denial where you aren’t just saying it. If they fly over, you go up and confront them. They have the choice of turning back or not. No one wishes for this but it could be a Liberty in reverse. [Israeli jet fighters and torpedo boats attacked the USS Liberty in international waters, off the Sinai Peninsula, during the Six-Day War in 1967. Israel later claimed the ship was the object of friendly fire.]

zbigniew_brzezinskiWhile Brzezinski is not an official advisor to the Obama administration, he has long been considered a trusted voice within the Democrat party, in terms of national security type issues. Brzezinkski endorsed the Obama campaign in 2007, which supposedly gave Obama the much needed national security credibility boost (wow).

It amazes me to see all the failed members of the Carter administration, including our nations worst President, Jimmy Carter himself coming out of the woodwork recently as Obama bungles foreign policy and domestic policy issues. They must feel emboldened as if it is some sort of validation to see Obama following the same course, which history has proven to be massive failures.

jimmy-carter-hugo-chavez

My question is, where was Brzezinski hiding his mojo and tough guy outlook as the Iranian’s were holding American hostages in Tehran for 444 days. Long known for his anti-Israeli bias, Obama should comment on Mr. Brzezinski’s comments, and affirm this nations solidarity with the Israeli people, unless of course this administration has moved away from the decades long alliance with our friends in Israel. The Jewish people already feel they have been abandoned by the United States, this would be a good way to heal that wound.

God help us if Obama were to take the advice of this national security failure.

Healthcare Ad shunned by MSM

Since the mainstream media, aka state controlled media will  not show this ad regarding the Presidents healthcare plan, it is up to the rest of us to spread it around. Ironic that ABC of all people decided that due to “misinformation” on this ad, they could not run it without substantive changes. This is the same network that ran the hourlong informercial in favor of ObamaCare a month ago. The ad below was produced and distributed by a group called the League of American Voters.

Here is the ad. Its called truth, and the networks hate such a vile word.

You won’t see this on any major network. Only alternative media. What will our country become as we begin to lose a free press, a press that only works as a government propaganda tool? Ask Iran, they would know.

The American Basij

This summer the world has watched in horror as the Iranian people took to the streets to protest the fraudulently obtained election victory of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. The government unleashed hell upon its own citizens for doing this, as the Fish had documented for weeks during the start of the summer. Part of the hell unleashed was the Basij, a plainclothes para-military group, who some even suspected of being Hezbollah. These plainclothes men came through town beating the Iranians for their descent.

In America, we have not gotten to that widespread point as of yet. But, we do have the American version of the Basij now among us. Goon squads from the SEIU and other union organizations have now been invited to these townhall meetings to stack the deck in favor of the Democrat Representatives, who have faced shouting (yet peaceful) opposition to the Presidents healthcare takeover. Witness this attack on Kenneth Gladney, who attended the townhall meeting held by Missouri 3rd district rep Russ Carnahan. Watch as the goon squad from the SEIU (complete with identifiable t-shirts) beat Mr. Gladney for his dissenting opinion….Is this Tehran or St. Louis?

And now, the woefully inept response from Rep. Carnahan as he is pushed to answer to the fact that the goon squad that he brought there beat a man…mind you, this is painful to watch, how was this man ever even elected??

And one last video, this is the response by once again peaceful Americans, including Mr. Gladney’s lawyer, outside of the SEIU local office.

St. Louis Tea Party Protest @ SEIU Office – August 8, 2009 from Brian Simpson on Vimeo.

As Mr. Gladney was being beaten, he screamed some very important words. DONT TREAD ON ME! The Gadsden flag has never been more important in American history than it is today, in my opinion. The United States government is waging a smear campaign, complete with inflammatory and defamatory language aimed at its own citizens. Obama is attempting to divide us…

axelrod-and-messinaOn Thursday, the White House was prepping Representatives for the inevitable dissent that will happen at their upcoming townhalls. (Hello, Maybe Americans really dont want HR 3200). From Politico.com…

“If you get hit, we will punch back twice as hard,” Messina said, according to an official who attended the meeting.

The hourlong session was the last opportunity for Democratic leaders and the White House to prepare senators for what will be a crucial month in shaping public opinion on health care. With no final legislation to promote, senators have expressed concern about dealing with questions and criticisms about the almost $1 trillion overhaul. The spate of confrontational town hall meetings have raised the stakes.

“They are just helping us understand the fringe that is trying to mess up our meetings,” said Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.).

Punch back twice as hard eh? It seems the SEIU (like any good union worker) took this in the literal sense. Just ask Mr. Gladney when he is finally able to speak.

Dissent is Democracy. Do not forget that!

Have we seen the last of Hillary?

On Sunday, I reported on Hillary Clinton’s strong words on the Iranian nuclear situation. The statements she made on Meet the Press reaffirmed my belief that I have been holding in my back pocket since her defeat in the 2008 Democratic primary to current President Barack Obama. I stated that she sounded very presidential with her Iranian nuke rhetoric.

Obama as he was putting together his Cabinet, tapped Hillary to become our current Secretary of State, in what many believed was his strategy of having a “team of rivals”. Hillary has performed her duties at the State Department admirably, basically following the ideology and policy of her boss, and doing as directed in the international arena of diplomacy. Not too many complaints can be had with Hillary at this point, though she has taken an extremely wrong-headed approach to the situation in Honduras. The approach, wrong as it is, is at the behest of her boss, and appears that they are actively working against the rule of Honduran law. We will dig deeper into that issue at another time…

Today in the NY Daily News, they ran a piece by Michael McAuliff postulating the same theories that have swirled in my head now for the better part of seven months. Have we seen the last of Hillary Clinton in the political world? Or is SOS going to be her final position of power?

sen20hillary20clinton

We remember back during the Dem primary season, that it was reported the Hillary campaign was in massive debt. Federal fundraising records now show that she has turned that debt into more than a million dollars in the black. Also, her Senate campaign committee has a large amount of cash in the bank, to the tune of over 2.1 million dollars. It was also noted in the NY Daily News piece that her campaign website continues to accept donations, for whatever reason that may be…I mean, she did officially come out and say that running again for the presidency was out of the question. Didn’t we hear that a few years back?? Pretty sure we did….

All of that to say this. Hillary has distinguished herself as the muscle of this administration. While Obama keeps his Senate trend of voting “present” on international issues, Hillary is sticking her nose right in the middle of things and putting out strongly worded statements and directives. She is clearly leading the charge in US diplomacy around the world, insulating her boss from having to take a firm stand on anything. This Obama philosophy may turn out to bite him in the rear, as Clinton continues to show a presidential-style leadership from her position at the head of the State Department, combined with already dipping approval ratings of the President could create an unprecedented perfect storm in the 2012 election season.

bill20clintonEnter Bill Clinton into this picture now. For better or worse, he is still in the picture. One thing we know as a fact about Bill Clinton, love him or hate him the man is an absolutely brilliant politician. To think that he is just enjoying retirement and not actively working behind the scenes to propel Hillary back into the presidential discussion to me is naive. The Clinton team in the 90’s era was a brilliant, and deceptive bunch. They could pull one over on everyone, and you would never know how it happened. That is the brilliance of Bill Clinton. He is still very favorably viewed, and you can bet he is licking his chops as he sees the approval of Barack Obama plummeting at President Jimmy Carter-like speed.  His brilliance, combined with Hillary’s ideology and ever expanding resume, and an economy that does not appear to be getting better any time soon, could produce another Clinton run at the Presidency.

I believe it to be true. If the situation is even remotely worse for Obama than it is now, you can mark it down that you saw it here.  Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will step down from her post, get out of the limelight, and pounce at the opportunity of the 2012 election. Waiting until 2016 will not work. She will be McCain age by that time. The opportunistic Clinton clan will once again rise into the national discussion.

Hillary: No Nukes for Iran. Period

Finally, the Obama administration has stood up and spoken out against the tyrannical Iranian regimes pursuit of nuclear weapons. Sadly, it was not the President of the United States. It was not even the loose-lipped Vice President of the United States. It was none other than Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. She spoke up on Meet the Press this morning…

She let the radical Iranian regime, who I might add is cracking from within thanks to the relentless pressure of the freedom fighting citizens of that nation, know in no uncertain terms that their pursuit of the bomb is futile.

“What we want to do is to send a message to whoever is making these decisions, that if you’re pursuing nuclear weapons for the purpose of intimidating, of projecting your power, we’re not going to let that happen,” Clinton said.

“First, we’re going to do everything we can to prevent you from ever getting a nuclear weapon. But your pursuit is futile, because we will never let Iran — nuclear-armed, not nuclear-armed — it is something that we view with great concern, and that’s why we’re doing everything we can to prevent that from ever happening. … We believe, as a matter of policy, it is unacceptable for Iran to have nuclear weapons.”

Its a sad day in American politics when the President, who is so concerned about his image worldwide, cannot make a stand on such a novice issue such as this. Ahmadinejad has shown himself unhinged in his previous term, as well as recently in the election that he stole, and simply cannot be allowed to pursue these type of devastating weapons. The intent certainly would be for intimidation, and even possibly for the destruction of Israel which he has continually railed on. Some may say its simply rhetoric, but at what point do you actually begin to take him seriously. As the nuclear-tipped balistic missile is in the air?

A hat tip to Hillary Clinton for sounding….well…Presidential in her statement to the media this morning. More on that in a bit….

Iranian protest continues

Watch this video from this evening in Tehran, you will see at the beginning that the author of the video shows the day’s newspaper to verify the date. Its eery yet a powerful show that the Iranian people are not finished in their quest for freedom. The nightly cries from the rooftop out to god “Allahu Akbhar” are straight from the playbook of the 1979 Revolution. Let us not forget the Iranian people…they are a strong group that will continue this fight until they get the freedom they deserve.

Iran observation

Juan Cole gives us an astute observation of the fluid situation unfolding in Iran.

A new and significant feature of this demonstration was that simultaneous rallies also occurred in cities all around the country. Although the crowds were relatively small, this national coordination suggests a national underground organization is emerging. The authorities cut off text messaging capabilities on Thursday in a vain attempt to thwart networking.

18 Tir and Tehran comes alive again

Tehran has seen relative calm in the past weeks, as the Green Revolution has taken to a behind the scenes approach in their drive for liberty. Today however, marks the 10 year anniversary of the protests at Tehran University, in which students were slaughtered by the theocratic thugs of the Iranian government. Iranians took to the streets today to remember 18 Tir (9 July) as well as continue in their struggle against the more modern day tyrannical Iranian government. Here are some updates from Twitter and from around the web.
Although the crowds have been much smaller than from weeks past, this video shows a large gathering, no confirmation as to the exact location, one can assume its probably in Tehran.

iranian-policeFrom Tehran Bureau

Enghelab St. and Amir Abad St.  (near the University of Tehran campus)

This was reportedly the most violent site of demonstrations today. Basij militias were scattered, but they were not  as widely present as other days. No gunshots were heard, but they were beating demonstrators with batons. Several people were severely injured, and there was bleeding, including women bleeding. Security forces were also using heavy amounts of teargas.

Those taking pictures or shooting film were confronted, if spotted.

My friends who had been to previous demonstrations believed this would rate as a 7 on a scale of 1 to 10 (10 being the worst).

Cellphone reception was good during the day, but around 5 p.m., it was completely disrupted. I called family at home (in Tehran) and they too could not reach people they knew in that area.

More from Tehran Bureau, as they provided updates from different areas around town.

Keshavarz Boulevard

This heavily congested boulevard, which leads to the University of Tehran campus, was crowded with peaceful demonstrators and there was little news of clashes.

All the friends I spoke to today have been relatively depressed for the past few days. But today they sounded very different. They said while the security forces were trying their best to separate the demonstrators, the city overall was alive and filled with peaceful protests. Their voice sounded excited, and much more confident and determined than in recent days.

Their are still people out on the streets, so there is still a chance for more violent confrontations.

mousaviThe movement clearly is not over with. While the international media coverage has waned in recent weeks, the effort continues in Tehran. The government has been working feverishly to quash any sort of major uprising again, constantly issuing threats against its citizens and jailing those that they deem as “threats to peace”. One such person is the author of the blog Tehranlive.org. I have not checked back recently, as it was reported that he had been arrested. Thankfully, this post showed up at the end of June.

I gotback home.
I am Amir
I am FREE.

Thank you All friends around the world for your prayers, activities and helps. LOVE you ALL.

2009/6/29 – TEHRAN

Continuing with the playbook from the 1979 Revolution, nightly the Iranian people climb on to their roofs and shout “allahu Akbar” in solidarity with each other.

These small steps are not going unnoticed by your friends around the world. The international community, including those of us in the United States still support your efforts. Continue in the small steps toward freedom, and it will be yours!

Kaplan nails the Iran story

Robert Kaplan explains the Obama strategy with Iran beautifully in his piece in the Atlantic today The entire article is a must read to fully grasp the issue of Iran. He may overstate slightly the “perfection” of the American response, I will not go that far, but definetely has been good and appropriate, even tempered and diplomatic…

President Barack Obama has come under withering criticism from neoconservatives and liberal internationalists for not speaking out more quickly and forcefully in support of the pro-democracy demonstrators in Iran. But now that the initial crisis is past, and Teheran has settled in for a behind-the-scenes struggle among the Shiite clergy, it is apparent that Obama’s instinct has been pitch-perfect.

The last time an American president was criticized for not coming out forcefully enough in support of pro-democracy demonstrators was twenty years ago, when George H. W. Bush took a publicly reticent stance as the Soviet Empire collapsed in Eastern Europe and the Baltic states. In A World Transformed, the 1998 memoir he coauthored with his national security advisor Brent Scowcroft, one of the finest and under-rated of political memoirs written in recent decades, Bush recalled that he felt it important to “step carefully in Poland and Hungary and … avoid aggravating the Soviets, whose military presence still loomed there.” If the U.S. had taken overt action to encourage democracy, he explained, “I understood that the pressure on Gorbachev from hard-liners to intervene would grow…there could be more Tiananmens.”

The story in Iran is far from over. While we have seen the horrors inflicted on the Iranian people for the past month, what we have now is happening behind the scenes. The Iranian people are going to play out the story, the American President has offerred his support in statements given, and all else must play out quietly in the shadows. As Kaplan points out, Bush 41’s strategy with Cold War Russia was vindicated by history, and I believe we will see the Iranian people succeed as well. That is at least the prayer of this blogger.

The Fish takes on the District

“Taxation without Representation”

One of the many interesting things here in Washington DC, all the license plates in town have it…interesting caveat as we move towards the second major round of teaparties. The American citizens here in DC have no representation in the House, or in the Senate. Taxation without Representation was one of the major grievances of the colonies against the British government. Strikes me as odd in this great town…the silent protest that goes on every day here.

Those who read regularly I am sure have noticed that the Fish has been lacking any recent content. Fear not, I have not abandoned you!! I am however on vacation down here in our nations capitol, taking in the sites and sounds, and celebrating the birth of this great Nation tommorow on the fourth of July.

Tommorow, the Fish will be standing in the shadows of the Capitol building protesting once again a government that has strayed far from the vision of the great patriots that birthed this  nation so many years ago. We will excercise our first ammendment right to peaceably assemble with our grievances. The statement will be a powerful one.

Obviously, there has been alot of news to catch up on. The Honduras situation escalating with President Obama latching on to the ideology of worldwide tyrants. Sarah Palin resigns today, the continuing Iran story (the green revolution  is far from over unlike what you might here from CNN), Helen Thomas slaps down Robert Gibbs (i love this video), health care, cap and trade…ahhh, much to write about.

For now we will celebrate. We will celebrate our independence, we celebrate freedom, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Celebrate America in the best way you know how to this weekend. I will be here in the capital excercising my first ammendment, followed by one serious party on the National mall.

We will see you all next week!!! Happy 4th!!

Check out the updates for the Washington DC teaparty here, or here. If you are in the NOVA, DC, Maryland area, come on out and join us!!
