Hypothetical head to head: Huckabee tops Obama?

Oh my!

Public Policy Polling recently released this poll in the aftermath of the Brown upset in Massachusetts and the results are stunning. I don’t remember any poll showing Obama losing to a GOP challenger up to this point so this is a noteworthy poll.

Mike Huckabee has a 45-44 advantage over Obama, aided largely by a 44-38 lead with independents. There continues to be no evidence of any negative fallout for Huckabee after murders of police officers committed by an ex-Arkansas inmate whose sentence he had commuted. His 35/29 favorability breakdown is actually slightly better than it was in November before that incident.

Mitt Romney does the next best, trailing Obama 44-42. His favorability is 36/32, and he’s the most popular Republican among independents (41/32). Romney actually matches Huckabee with GOP voters this month and gets over 50%, ending a trend in his numbers that had seemed to spell difficulty for snagging a Republican nomination.

Sarah Palin trails Obama 49-41 largely because she loses 14% of the Republican vote to him, making her the only one of the GOP candidates we tested who Obama could get double digit crossover support against. At the same time Palin continues to be the most well liked potential GOP candidate within her party- at 71% favorability. Her problem appears to be that the Republicans who don’t care for her will go so far as to vote for Obama instead of her.

Before all the rabid Palinites declare this poll to be completely irrelevant, there are other polls that there that would corroborate the PPP assessment that Palin loses to Obama due to the Republican cross-over voting in favor of Obama. According to a recent Fox News poll, it shows Sarah Palin losing 17% of the GOP vote to Barack Obama, giving him a solid lead against the former Alaskan governor.

16. What about if the candidates were: (ROTATE NAMES)

Democrat Republican (Don’t

Barack Obama Sarah Palin (Other) (Wouldn’t vote) know)

12-13 Jan 10 55% 31 4 4 5

Democrats 89% 5 1 1 3

Republicans 17% 68 6 6 4

Independents 56% 24 7 4 8

Time to take a second look at Mike Huckabee??

And do these numbers indicate why Mrs Palin is out campaigning for John McCain? Is it a play to get back that surprisingly large percentage of GOP voters that would defect?

Krauthammer filets Obama comments on Iran

The response from Fox News pundit Charles Krauthammer to the comments President Obama made regarding the Iranian crisis was anything but complimentary. He chose the words flacid and meaningless as his adjectives to describe the Presidents statement. Check out the rest.

To a degree, Kraut has a point. The words that President Obama used were assertive enough, in my opinion, letting the people on the streets know that America stands with them. What really is gained by starting a war of words with a regime that you are already at odds with on a number of different issues.

iran-eruptsTo come out and call the Ahmadinejad government illegitimate would certainly be a boost to his hawkish credentials (credentials that do not exist actually) but would be foolish in a couple of ways. First of all, it would highlight the fact that he missed his opportunity this summer to be ahead of the curve in not recognizing the government of Iran as legitimate as they had stolen the election. The fraud was rampant and obvious. The repression of the citizenry was broadcasted around the world. Mr Obama missed that moment. What Krauthammer fails to recognize is the success that the Iranian people are having on their own. Frankly they do not need a hawkish Obama to trot around to every available forum, as Kraut suggests, firing off strong language and creating more tension than already exists between the two nations.

We all understand that Iran is not willing to negotiate, talk with, work with or really have any dealing with the United States. Obama failed in his mission to “unclench the fist” of the Iranian government.  They do not want to work with us, period. Should the Iranian government succeed in putting the people down for a second time, he would be locked into a bitter struggle with the Supreme Leader and Ahmadi all the way. There is no way out.

Let the Iranian people work their way through this. They are not afraid of the regime. They are having success, frankly the government is on the ropes at the moment. His words offered up today were plenty in my mind. They show a solidarity with the people of Iran, and still leave open doors toward the future.

Dede endorses the Dem

gop-troubleThat’s what 900,000 + in GOP money gets ya’ these days. From Fox News.com

Republican Dede Scozzafava endorsed her former Democratic opponent Sunday in the race for an upstate New York congressional seat, shaking up the contest for the second day in a row after exiting the race Saturday.

Scozzafava dropped out after Conservative Party candidate Doug Hoffman experienced a late-in-the-game surge. The move was expected to consolidate GOP voters behind Hoffman on Tuesday.

But on Sunday, Scozzafava issued a written statement in which she backed Democrat Bill Owens.

“I am supporting Bill Owens for Congress and urge you to do the same,” she said. “In Bill Owens, I see a sense of duty and integrity that will guide him beyond political partisanship. He will be an independent voice devoted to doing what is right for New York. Bill understands this district and its people, and when he represents us in Congress he will put our interests first.”

Hoffman and Owens are competing for the 23rd Congressional District seat formerly held by Republican John McHugh, who was lured away by the Obama administration to be Army secretary.

I am still wondering when the Republican “establishment” will come out and acknowledge their sheer ignorance in spending from their campaign coffers, throwing their weight behind this woman, all the while knowing her leftist tendencies. NRCC chair Pete Sessions is still blaming conservatives instead of admitting they made a boo-boo. Now that little boo-boo has cost them a million dollars that could have been put towards a candidate that meets the demographic of the district, and serves the Republican party base, as well as protecting the country from a leftist takeover.

After Dede dropped out, Newt Gingrich and some other GOP johnny- come-latelys decided to throw all in for Doug Hoffman, and with Scozzafavas announcement today, frankly they all have that permanent egg stain on their faces.

Scozzafavas entrenchment in the big labor movement was so obvious it is disturbing that the GOP didn’t take notice. From the NY Daily News via Michelle Malkin

At 10 p.m. last night – right in the middle of the Halloween festivities – Scozzafava’s husband, Ron McDougall, president of the Jefferson/Lewis/St. Lawrence Central Labor Council issued a statement through the AFL-CIO that he is endorsing Owens against Conservative candidate Doug Hoffman.

According to his statement, it basically all comes down to support of the labor movement’s top priority, the Employee Free Choice Act and its controversial card-check provision, which Owens and Scozzafava supported – much to the chagrin of the right – and Hoffman pointedly does not.

“This has been a difficult day for my family. But the needs and concerns of the men and women of the 23rd Congressional District remain paramount,” McDougall said. “As such, I wholeheartedly and without reservation endorse the candidacy of Bill Owens.”

“As a life-long labor activist, I know that Bill Owens understands the issues important to working people. On the other hand, Doug Hoffman has little regard for the interests of workers.”

“Hoffman’s opposition to the Employee Free Choice Act, coupled with his support for the failed policies of the Bush Administration make him a poor choice to serve the citizens of the 23rd Congressional District.”

Everything about this woman screamed lefty Democrat. The GOP missed it, and its leadership is to blame. As long as the head of the “establishment” continues to try and play nice in the sand box, they will continue to stay anemic on the national stage. It’s become obvious that Michael Steele and the GOP leadership cannot lead, so I will say follow your base and we will lead you where you need to be.

Dede drops out

Breaking from Fox News:

Republican state Assemblywoman Dierdre Scozzafava has suspended her campaign for upstate New York’s 23rd Congressional seat, giving a possible boost to Conservative Party nominee Doug Hoffman against Democrat Bill Owens, Fox News has confirmed.

The move comes on the heels of a new poll that showed Scozzafava had fallen behind her two competitors in a race too close.

The special election is Tuesday and political analysts believe upstate New York is a preview of the races in 2010 and 2012 as Republican leaders struggle to rebuild, redefine and regain control of Washington.

The Siena College poll has Owens picking up 36 percent of the vote, while Hoffman has 35 percent. Scozzafava has 20 percent, with nine percent of voters undecided.

Chalk this one up to a victory for conservatives nationwide. And shame on Newt Gingrich for backing a woman who was clearly a center-left Republican and not representative of the conservative district that she was tapped to represent.

It will now be a two-horse race in the NY-23 district run-off election. Doug Hoffman, the Conservative party candidate, and Bill Owens the Democrat. Most recent polling with Scozzafava still in the race showed a neck and neck affair with Owens at 36%, Hoffman 35% and Scozzafava checking in with 20%.

doug-hoffmanDoug Hoffman garnered national attention for jumping into the race as a third party candidate after he was passed over in the selection process of the district. He attracted endorsements of many high-profile Republicans nationwide, as well as the teaparty activists who flocked towards upstate New York to lend their support.

This is what the Republican party needs. The big-tent philosophy of this party is what has gotten them into trouble in national elections recently. The base is motivated, and they are conservative.  Conservatives nationwide want to keep this country true to the principles it was founded upon, and this will be the start in retaking what has become an out of control governmental machine.

Now its time to watch the Governors races in New Jersey and Virginia.

Update:

From Newt Gingrich on Twitter:

newtgingrich Scozzafava dropping out leaves hoffman as only anti-tax anti-pelosi vote in ny 23 Every voter opposed to tax increases support doug hoffman

Update:
Dede’s statement, from Politico:
Scozzafava’s statement:

Dear Friends and Supporters:

Throughout the course of my campaign for Congress, I have made the people of the 23rd District and the issues that affect them the focal point of my campaign. As a life long resident of this District, I care deeply and passionately about its people and our way of life. Whether as a candidate for Congress, a State Assemblywoman or a small town Mayor, I have always sought to act with the best interest of our District and its residents in mind—and today I again seek to act for the good of our community.

The opportunity to run as the Republican and Independence Party candidate to represent the 23rd District has been and remains one of the greatest honors of my life. During the past several months, as I’ve traveled the district, meeting and talking with voters about the issues that matter most to them, I’ve been overwhelmed by the amount of support I’ve received as I sought to serve as their voice in Washington. However, as Winston Churchill once said, Democracy can be a fickle employer, and the road to public office is not always a smooth one.

In recent days, polls have indicated that my chances of winning this election are not as strong as we would like them to be. The reality that I’ve come to accept is that in today’s political arena, you must be able to back up your message with money—and as I’ve been outspent on both sides, I’ve been unable to effectively address many of the charges that have been made about my record. But as I’ve said from the start of this campaign, this election is not about me, it’s about the people of this District. And, as always, today I will do what I believe serves their interests best.

It is increasingly clear that pressure is mounting on many of my supporters to shift their support. Consequently, I hereby release those individuals who have endorsed and supported my campaign to transfer their support as they see fit to do so. I am and have always been a proud Republican. It is my hope that with my actions today, my Party will emerge stronger and our District and our nation can take an important step towards restoring the enduring strength and economic prosperity that has defined us for generations.

On Election Day my name will appear on the ballot, but victory is unlikely. To those who support me – and to those who choose not to – I offer my sincerest thanks.

CNN ratings dropping faster than Obama

Which really does not say a whole lot with as fast as the Obama ratings are falling through the political floor. While we are on the subject of Obama’s ratings, Rasmussens Daily Tracking poll shows that those that strongly disapprove of Obama and his less than stellar performance is at 41%, while those that strongly approve only sits at 29% for a daily rating of -12%.  The public is finally waking up to the reality of what we mistakenly put into office…this might also be known as some serious buyers remorse.

obama_approval_index_october_26_2009

But I digress from my original point, which of course was about the Obama administration mouthpiece in the cable news arena. CNN along with her sister station of Headline News (HLN) are battling it out for last place in the quarterly viewership ratings. Sadly for CNN, they are shedding viewership at a pace we are not even used to seeing, as FOX roars ahead in all ratings, beating out rivals MSNBC by at least double, sometimes triple and quadruple the nightly viewers. From the NY Times, I am going to put this quote in here so we can all laugh, but it needs to be seen.

CNN, which invented the cable news network more than two decades ago, will hit a new competitive low with its prime-time programs in October, finishing fourth – and last – among the cable news networks with the audience that all the networks rely on for their advertising.

That means CNN’s programs were behind not only Fox News and MSNBC, but even its own sister network HLN (formerly Headline News.) Three of its four shows between 7 and 11 p.m. finished fourth and last among the cable news networks. That was the first time CNN had finished that poorly with its prime-time shows.

CNN has steered opinion hosts like Nancy Grace to HLN, while maintaining more news-oriented shows on CNN itself. When news events are not being intensely followed, CNN executives acknowledge, viewers seem to be looking for partisan views more than objective coverage.

Individually, the CNN shows were beaten resoundingly by all the Fox News programs, but also lost to all of the MSNBC programs, including a repeat of Keith Olbermann’s 8 p.m. edition of “Countdown,” which beat the 10 p.m. hour of CNN’s signature prime-time program, “Anderson Cooper 360.”
Again that was a first.

The bolded section is laughable at best. This is the same network that fact-checked an Obama skit on SNL, but won’t fact check any of the outrageous lies being propagated through their network by their very own messiah. CNN has constantly offered slanted propaganda type news, which is joybeharironic given their constant attacks on Fox news for the same charge, and offers absolutely nothing worth watching as far as entertaining opinion type shows. Their signature offering, Anderson Cooper 360 has tanked far below that of its nearest competitor Keith Olbermann, which is significantly below any of the Fox offerings. The same company owns HNL, and with offerings like what we have on that channel, its no surprise how ineffective they are at reaching out to viewers. Here is a snippet from the Joy Behar Show on HNL (yes, as if the View wasn’t pathetic enough, they gave this woman her own primetime political talk show…wow)

In the schoolyard of American politics, President Obama is the big, smart kid with all of the test answers who’s being bullied by a bunch of Neanderthal ankle-biters from all sides.

Meanwhile, all the teachers are wondering, “Why does he take this crap? He’s bigger and smarter than all the other kids.”

It’s no surprise the Glenn Becks of the world have been attacking Obama since the moment he stepped into the Oval Office. Beck and his blathering buddies on the right — you know, the stinky kids in the coatroom who eat their own boogers. Always pick on the kids least likely to fight back.

That being said — we did elect President Obama to change things, and so far the only thing he seems to be changing are his faux-patriotic lapel pins … and his mind.

With analysis like that, I personally am shocked they are not leading the way. *end sarcasm here*

Anita Dunn: Mao my favorite philosopher

Glenn Beck continues doing his fantastic work in exposing the Obama White House and staff and appointees as the radical’s that they are.  Today, he uncovered a video of Anita Dunn, the White House Communications Director, stating she viewed the Communist murderous dictator as her favorite philosopher. These people are in power here in America…in case you hadn’t figured that out.

Really curious which philosophy she is referring to…would that be the philosophy of mass murder? Some estimate at many at 7-10 million people died brutally in his rise to power in China.

maoMs. Dunn likely comes from the same group of radicals, such as Van Jones, who idolized Che Guevara, Castro and their ilk as well.

Again, this woman has a powerful position in the highest levels of American government. When will the left wake up to what this administration is really all about.

WH Declares war on Fox; still wobbly on Afghanistan

The indecision of President Barack Obama in Afghanistan is starting to make sense now. He is putting the attention of the White House on Fox News Channel and taking the fight to them instead of the sworn enemies of the United States, you might remember them as the Taliban and Al-Qaeda.

Most of us have seen by now the jaw dropping ignorance of interim White House communications director Anita Dunn a few days ago on CNN declaring all out war on Rupert Murdoch’s wildly successful media conglomerate, declaring them to not be a news station at all, but merely the research arm and communications arm of the Republican party. For those that missed it, here is the video.

Ms. Dunn is clearly unaware of the difference between news and opinion. Clearly Fox has its opinion shows, and there is undoubtedly a conservative bent to those shows. Glenn Beck and Sean Hannity are obviously staunch conservatives. Bill O’reilly falls into more of a moderate conservative mold, Greta Van Susteren the same. What Ms. Dunn has obviously failed to recognize is the numerous voices on the network that fall into the liberal side of the equation. Geraldo Rivera?? Bob Beckel, Pad Caddell and the list goes on of pundits, talking heads and contributors they have on the network to give both sides of the story. Makes for great entertainment. It also is what Americans want. NBC, ABC, CNN, CBS, MSNBC are so ridiculously in the tank for any and all Democrats (especially the Chosen One) that Americans are turning them off. On any given night, Fox beats them senseless in the ratings…Combined!

Neil Cavuto absolutely blasted Anita Dunn on his show with the most common sense logic you could possibly apply to that level of ignorance.

So why is the administration taking on Fox News? What could possibly be gained by this strategy. It is politically ignorant, and sets a dangerous precedent to attempt to intimidate the ONLY news station that is not completely in the tank for you. It really makes CNN and the rest of the sheep media look pathetic, because it simply illustrates the point that they are unwilling to print, opine, or produce any sort of coverage that might be critical of the President, and it appears to be at the behest of the Executive branch.  The reason is clear. Fox News has skyrocketing ratings. They are the highest they have ever been, and only going higher. Which is a clear indication to this administration that there is a growing unease and dissent among the American people when it comes to the force-fed policies of this administration. They see it, and they can’t stand it.  When the MSM even admits that carpet-bombing a news station that doesn’t conform is bad policy, then you know it must be real bad policy and strategy.

So as we continue to watch the Obama administration step up its attacks on American citizens and the place where they CHOOSE en masse to get their news, lets not forget about the soldiers in Afghanistan who have now endured 45 days of indecision on whether or not we want to win the war in Afghanistan.

Time to prioritize Mr. Obama.

Mmmm Mmmm indoctrination all around

Following up on the previous post, most if not all of us have seen this little diddy put together at the B. Bernice Young Elementary School in Burlington New Jersey.

Mmmm Mmmm Mmm, the cult of personality is here. Now really, for all of the people who bashed me for even considering the idea that the Obama school speech was a pretext for indoctrination by the teachers, it doesn’t seem like such a wild eyed idea after seeing this. When you have rogue teachers, tied to the unions which are inextricably tied to the President and the administration, this is what you get.

Sadly, the teachers are not even particularly creative. They do however launch into a bit of sacriledge as they use the tune for a spiritual that we all know, “Jesus loves the little children”. Or how bout then launching into a little Battle Hymn of the Republic medley. This is absolutely amazing to me.
This is exactly the kind of cult of personality that foments dictatorship and fascism. I do not honestly believe that is Obama’s end goal, if its not then he should be horribly embarrassed and even denounce out loud this type of action being taken in our nations schools.

Top that off with the fact that the school principle as well as the school superintendent only had complaints that the video had been distributed, not what was going on in the video. From Fox News.

The principal of a New Jersey elementary school where young students were videotaped singing the praises of President Obama is making no apologies for the videotape and says she would allow the performance again if she could, according to parents who spoke with her Thursday night.

Three parents told FOXNews.com that Dr. Denise King, principal of B. Bernice Young Elementary School in Burlington, N.J., defended the controversial performance, which was videotaped and posted on YouTube, when they approached her during a “Back to School” event.

Parent Jim Angelillo said King told him the lesson was merely part of Black History month, and not an attempt to indoctrinate students, as critics have charged. He said he believes teachers have the freedom to express their political views, but not in the classroom.

“Freedom of speech, not freedom to teach,” Angelillo told FOXNews.com.

King has long been a fan of Obama, hanging pictures of the president in her school’s hallways and touting her trip to his inauguration in the school yearbook.

Included in the full-page yearbook spread were Obama campaign slogans (”Yes we can! Yes we did!”) and photos King took in Washington on Jan. 20, when she attended the inauguration.

How have we gotten to this point in this country?

How much is enough? Just a little more

All Obama, All day long.

Avoid your television set America, or better yet go to church, on Sunday morning. Obama is taking to your airwaves in an unprecedented (and frankly ridiculous) blitz on the Sunday morning talk shows.

obamaPresident Barack Obama will grace the masses en masse Sunday morning by appearing on This Week with George Stephanapoulos on ABC, Meet the Press on NBC, and Face the Nation on CBS. Assuming you miss any of those three, fear not because our fearless commander-in-chief will be hitting softballs out of the park with interviews on CNN as well as…get this…Univision. Yes, Spanish language television to reach out to that trusty Hispanic constituency. Fox apparently got the snub in this blitz, you go ahead and figure out the reason for that on your own.

Did you think I was done? Well, no…I’m not because President Obama will next be taking the act to the Big Apple to appear on Late Show with David Lettermen. Yes, that is another unprecedented move by a sitting US President. In this case its ok though, because at least it isn’t a part of the Sunday blitzkrieg. You will be able to get the afternoon Obama-free, until the Monday news cycle airs re-runs of every inane lie, half-truth, vaguery, and forked-tongue comment he makes from Sunday. Monday night, its party time on Lettermen. Graciously, Lettermen will devote the entire show to the President, at which time we can expect the teleprompter to teleprompt all the normal talking points that we have heard for 2 months now on healthcare.

Overexposure anyone? I’m thinking this new White House strategy equates to a battle of attrition. Whoever can speak the loudest and longest wins (at least they hope so). Miscalculation though, because the American people (yes, that would be the majority of Americans) are a stubborn lot that are no longer being bought by flowery words and sunshine and kittens promises. You have been overexposed Mr. President, do yourself a favor and head towards the Oval Office and work on that plan you keep touting. Yes, the one that does not yet exist. The plan promises alot, and now the citizens of this great land would like to see your plan.

I’m all ears for that!

Van Jones resigns

Breaking News on this early Sunday morning.

White House Special Advisor for “Green Jobs” aka green jobs czar Van Jones has resigned.

According to Fox News:

WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama’s adviser Van Jones has resigned amid controversy over past inflammatory statements, the White House said early Sunday.

Van Jones, an administration official specializing in environmentally friendly “green jobs,” has been linked to efforts suggesting a government role in the Sept. 11 terror attacks and to derogatory comments about Republicans.

Fox apparently decided to softball him on this report, as Jones statements have been much more than the derogatory term he used for Republicans, and his link to the 9/11 Truther website. Jones is an avowed communist, and an extreme radical leftist cut from the mold of Bill Ayers and their ilk. His inflammatory remarks about this country, and his own beliefs beg one serious question.

What was he doing in the White House in the first place?

A simple look at the past of Van Jones is not hard to find. His beliefs have been put out for public consumption for many years. Lets not pretend that President Obama did not know exactly who Van Jones was, and still is. vanjones1

One thing he definetely is. He is no longer working in the White House pushing his black liberation theology, communist ideology, and eco-capitalist economic policy on this country.

Bye bye Van, you will not be missed.

Who is Van Jones (cont)

vanjonesMore of President Obama’s Special advisor for Green Jobs Van Jones. Once again, in his own words.

This video was from February 2009 speaking at an energy lecture in Berkely California. Check out  his response, and I apologize for the language in advance, just goes to show what kind of class we have in the West Wing of the White House.

The woman seems to be a bit misinformed with her question in the first place. She obviously does not remember the last 8 years very well, but thats not the point. An uninformed liberal is hardly surprising. However, the response by someone who has a high level position within our government might choose to be a bit more decent in his response. Not the calling card of an Alinkyite communist though. So here it is…

You stay classy Van Jones!!

Update:

Oh wait, there is more. This guy is a class act by the very definition.

Via Breitbart- This clip comes from remarks Van Jones gave in 2008 to the General Assembly of the Unitarian Universalist Association of Congregations.

Who is Van Jones?

Glenn Beck continues to expose this radical leftist, who is a self avowed communist and anarchist.

Van Jones is the Obama administration’s Green Jobs Czar. Another stooge of the Obama’s administrations pointed agenda toward social justice and socialism, all in the name of environmentalism.

Critics say Beck is just attacking Mr. Jones because of the boycott being led by Color of Change. Well, the boycott is actually a response to Glenn Beck who has been exposing these “czars” in the White House, since President Obama has been subverting the Constitution by appointing these men. You truly know the man’s agenda when you look at who he is surrounding himself with. Men like Van Jones.

0_21_450_beck_one_090109

As one would expect, the lefty blogosphere has been going nuts on Beck for his hard work in exposing this man for who he truly is. Media Matters and AlterNet  have put out some particularly inaccurate pieces. Beck has however been using Van Jones’ own words to show who he really is. Here are some excerpts. These are from March of 2009.

VAN JONES: This movement is deeper than a solar panel! Deeper than a solar panel! Don’t stop there! Don’t stop there! We’re gonna change the whole system! We’re gonna change the whole thing. We’re not gonna put a new battery in a broken system. We want a new system. We want a new system!

JONES: If all we do is take out the dirty power system, the dirty power generation in a system, and just replace it with some clean stuff, put a solar panel on top of this system. When we don’t deal with how we are consuming water. We don’t deal with how we’re treating our other sister and brother species. We don’t deal with toxins. We don’t deal with the way we treat each other. If that’s not a part of this movement, let me tell you what you’ll have: You’ll have solar-powered bulldozers, solar-powered buzz saws, and biofuel bombers, and we’ll be fighting wars over lithium for the batteries instead of oil for the engines and we’ll still have a dead planet. This movement is deeper than a solar panel! Deeper than a solar panel! Don’t stop there! Don’t stop there! We’re gonna change the whole system! We’re gonna change the whole thing!

JONES: What about our immigrant sisters and brothers? What about our immigrant sisters and brothers? What about people who come here from all around the world who we’re willing to have out in the field, with poison being sprayed on them, poison being sprayed on them because we have the wrong agricultural system. And we’re willing to poison them and poison the earth to put food on our table, but we don’t want to give them rights and we don’t want to give them dignity and we don’t want to give them respect?

Van Jones radical organizations and affilliations also give reason for pause. From the American Spectator:

Standing Together to Organize a Revolutionary Movement (STORM), the revolutionary group formed by self-described “communist” and “rowdy black nationalist” Van Jones, held a vigil in Oakland, California, “mourning the victims of U.S. imperialism around the world” on the night after Sept. 11, 2001.

The reason this is important is because Van Jones is now President Obama’s green jobs czar. He does not appear to have distanced himself from his past communist activities and is now part of the Obama administration’s push to turn Sept. 11 into a National Day of Service focused on the promotion of the radical environmentalist agenda.

Jones is also the co-founder of Color of Change, the Ella Baker Center for Human Rights, Green for All, and of course as mentioned the now defunct STORM.

I will continue trying to dig through mountains of information on this man and continue adding to this page with updates.

Updates:

Check out the Gateway Pundit (who I might add is doing all the leg-work that MSM won’t do.) GP exposes the Van Jones link to the 9/11 truther movement.

Check out this link as well. Van Jones apparently doesn’t have much to say about our nations police officers.

Also on the board at the War Times, an anti-American, pro-jihad left wing radical hate filled monthly. Van Jones is quite the standup guy.

Thugs Speak out

Of course I use that term with an exceptional amount of sarcasm, because much like myself (who is not a thug) the people that come to the townhalls are American citizens sick and tired of Congress not listening.

Fox news did an interview this morning with a man who came and confronted his congressman boldly. Mike Sola, from Milan Michigan, unashamedly approached Congressman John Dingell at the recent townhall meeting in Romulus Michigan. Here is the interview…

Mr. Sola is hardly a thug. Hardly part of the mob. Angry? Absolutely. And he has every right to be angry. Much like Mr. Dingell has done for the better part of his 50 years in Congress, he evaded his questions, and when he did answer, he gave an inaccurate one. One thing that struck me from Mr. Sola’s exchange is that Mr. Dingell indicated that there will be an ammendment regarding health care for the disabled. To me, that is an absolute admission of exactly what Mr. Sola accuses, that his son would not receive the care he needs under the original bill.

Also, Mr. Sola’s mentioned in his interview with Fox a piece in the NY Post about “Deadly Doctors“. Read it for yourself, follow the link, but here is an excerpt from that piece.

Savings, he writes, will require changing how doctors think about their patients: Doctors take the Hippocratic Oath too seriously, “as an imperative to do everything for the patient regardless of the cost or effects on others” (Journal of the American Medical Association, June 18, 2008).

Yes, that’s what patients want their doctors to do. But Emanuel wants doctors to look beyond the needs of their patients and consider social justice, such as whether the money could be better spent on somebody else.

Many doctors are horrified by this notion; they’ll tell you that a doctor’s job is to achieve social justice one patient at a time.

Emanuel, however, believes that “communitarianism” should guide decisions on who gets care. He says medical care should be reserved for the non-disabled, not given to those “who are irreversibly prevented from being or becoming participating citizens . . . An obvious example is not guaranteeing health services to patients with dementia” (Hastings Center Report, Nov.-Dec. ‘96).

Translation: Don’t give much care to a grandmother with Parkinson’s or a child with cerebral palsy.

Dr. Emanuel was recently appointed by President Obama as the Health Policy Advisor to the Office of Management and Budget.  Yes, he will be pulling the financial strings on government health care initiatives, and helping to decide how to keep this plan under or within budget.

Misinformation? No. This is the real truth about the Obama health plan.

Campaign Season 09

Political campaigning is in full swing for the 09 season.

Has the PoliticalFish lost its collective mind you ask? There are no elections this year, at least not on a national level. That is true, but we are seeing an unprecedented campaign this year. The President of the United States is running a full scale campaign against American citizens. And the joke is apparently on us, because we actually get to pay for his political campaigning. A reader brought up this point to me in yesterday’s article about the White House blog asking Americans to turn in their fellow citizens for dissenting against health care reform. He says:

Isn’t this an illegal use of government funds? I remember what happened with the Clinton’s database where they denied vehemently that they weren’t using government funds for political purposes, but this things by Obama seems like they are doing what Clinton was accused of doing secretly. Hopefully lawyers will get on this as it seems illegal for the White House to use taxpayer money to spy on taxpayers over a political thing.

To be totally honest, I am not sure of the legality of the issue, so at this point I would not even comment to that end, however in my memory I cannot remember a political campaign ever being waged against American citizens by a sitting US President. Maybe I am forgetting someone, and would love the feedback. Barack Obama has taken to the airwaves, press conferences, townhalls, and every other possible means denigrating the American citizens who pay his salary. He is not running against a GOP candidate. He is not running against the GOP party. He is running against a majority of US citizens who oppose his healthcare bill.

A majority you ask? Yes, a majority. Numerous polls speak to that fact.  According to an NPR poll:

However, when asked about the plan now moving through Congress, a plurality of 47 percent was opposed and 42 percent said they were in favor, based on what they had heard about the plan so far.

Thats one, ok…don’t worry there are plenty more. See more results here and here. Zogby and Rassmussen polling centers also both confirm, with Rassmussen polling indicating that 53% of Americans are opposed to the Congressional reform taking place (actually been put on ice for a month). Gallup tells us that while a majority of Americans believe that reform in the health care industry is neccesary, a  minority actually favor the plan moving through Congress currently. DailyKos is about the only website I was able to find where there is a majority in favor of healthcare as the President has stated it. That is of course no surprise, because generally speaking Kos readers are rabid far left liberals, and the polls taken on their site show that sort of bias. While none of these polls show an overwhelming majority, it is a majority none the less. All American citizens will agree on the fact that the healthcare system is broken, reform is needed. But that is not what HR 3200 is all about. HR 3200 is a full blown government takeover of what is already the best health system in the world.

So, the White House cannot and will not accept defeat on this matter. They have launched a full blown smear campaign against American citizens who are showing up at townhall meetings, bloggers like myself who write dissenting pieces, and normal citizens who don’t want government interference in the private sector. The polls show that Americans do NOT want the price tag that will come with this. The cost is too high, as are the taxes that will be attached to it. Tim Geithner opened his mouth Monday and told us all that the middle class may have to take the hit to pay for all this spending. The spin machine of the White House quickly flew into action dismissing his words. The White House email server sent this email out last week, here is an excerpt.

Over the next month there is going to be an avalanche of misinformation and scare tactics from those seeking to perpetuate the status quo. But we know the cost of doing nothing is too high. Health care costs will double over the next decade, millions more will become uninsured, and state and local governments will go bankrupt

Speaking of misinformation and scare tactics….This one was sent out today.

So yes, fixing this crisis will not be easy. Our opponents will attack us every day for daring to try. It will require time, and hard work, and there will be days when we don’t know if we have anything more to give. But there comes a moment when we all have to choose between doing what’s easy, and doing what’s right.

This is one of those times. And moments like this are what this movement was built for. So, are you ready?

The administration continues to demonize American’s as liars, paid for by Fox News, the insurance industry, and other big business interest groups. Former Clinton crony, and Democratic strategist Lanny Davis wants ObamaCare protesters to be photographed and investigated. He says he intends to prove the connection. I’ll smile for that picture Lanny, I have nothing to hide except contempt for a Gestapo-type administration who simply cannot handle dissent. Trust me, I won’t hide it. Robert Gibbs took a swing at the “Brooks Brother Brigade” as proof of a vast right-wing conspiracy to try and hurt the President by defeating his signature bill. Linda Douglass wants Americans to turn in other Americans for speaking the truth about the healthcare bill. If the President doesn’t say it, it must be misinformation. Has the American public become so dumbed down, that we actually believe that politicians are telling us the truth? Your fellow citizens are the liars? Amazing.

Its all lunacy. What has happened to the country that I love? We have gotten now to the point where dissent against tyranny has turned our own President against us. It’s sad really.

For the real truth about healthcare reform….go read it yourself. Conservatives are not making this stuff up.

Questions surround Pfc. Bergdahl disappearance

There are a lot of questions surrounding the disappearance and capture of Pfc. Bowe Bergdahl. Last night, the Fish ran an article documenting the disappearance and propaganda video dispersed by his Taliban captors. The many questions surrounding his disappearance have, as one might expect, generated a lot of speculation. There are multiple accounts of exactly how he disappeared, leaving much to the imagination

On July 2, two U.S. officials told the AP the soldier had “just walked off” his base with three Afghans after his shift. He had no body armor or weapon and they said they had no explanation for why he left. The officials spoke on the condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the case.

On July 6, the Taliban claimed on their Web site that five days earlier “a drunken American soldier had come out of his garrison” and was captured by mujahadeen.

In the video, Bergdahl said he was lagging behind a patrol when he was captured.

Details of such incidents are routinely held very tightly by the military as it works to retrieve a missing or captured soldier without giving away any information to captors.

Afghans in contact with the Taliban told the AP that the soldier was held by a Taliban group led by a commander called Maulvi Sangin. They said the fighters initially planned to smuggle the soldier across the border into Pakistan but ruled that out because of U.S. missile strikes and Pakistani bombing attacks against militant targets in the area. Instead, they decided to move him north into Taliban-controlled areas of Ghazni province.

bowe-bergdahlWhile all of these questions need to be hashed out, and are to be expected in this type of situation, this summation struck me as a bit over the top, and I am sure you would agree. Fox News had Lt. Col. Ralph Peters on today to discuss the issue. Sadly, Lt. Col. Peters never answered the questions posed to him, and went on a rant based on hardline conjecture, eventually leading up to his assumption that Pfc. Bergdahl deserted his unit, and even went so far as to suggest that the Taliban should do us a favor and kill him.  Watch this video, to me it was shocking. Many thanks to the anchor Julie Banderas for attempting to soften  his hardline rhetoric, indicating that we do not want to see any US soldier killed or captured. Lt.Col. Peters was doing his best not to allow her to do that, but she prevailed and got the last word in. If his claim is true, that Bergdahl is a liar and a deserter, than the US military should follow its protocall in dealing with this type of behavior. But Lt. Peters was way over the top in his implication that the Taliban should save us the legal hassle and take care of the problem for us. I mean, who is this guy!!!?

Here is the video, enjoy!

We should for the near future pray for the safe return of this young US soldier. The military is well equipped to deal with the facts when they come out, and they certainly will. If Peters is correct, than so be it..the military will deal with it. It is however, entirely too early to make the leap into these type of conclusions. The facts are not in. Lets just continue to hope and pray that Pfc. Bergdahl is brought back safely.
