Obama attacks SCOTUS during State of the Union

Ahhh, the State of the Union address. The time in the political calendar in which we witness politicians falling in love with themselves all over again, year after year. There is so much to take away from last nights speech, but lets start with what has been sticking in my craw, and actually pulled me up out of my chair when it happened.

It was amazingly childish. It was awash in the hyper-partisan aura that dominated the entire evening. Frankly, it discarded the decorum of the evening, and was an act beneath the dignity of the United States President addressing the state of our union. In my time following politics, I have not yet seen something as brazen, but then again for a man who cannot seem to recognize the gravity and the duty and dignity of the office he holds, it came as no real surprise.

Alito

It was the blatant calling out of the Supreme Court in the middle of the speech, launching a political bomb at the Court as they sat stony faced in the front row. Politicization of the Court is beneath a President who has been lecturing throughout the evening on the need to discard the politicization of issues in Washington, and work on behalf of the American people. The reaction of the Democrat caucus was even more comical disgraceful, as clearly can be seen in the video. Chuck Schumer exhibits a particular lack of decency as he is almost giving an in your face to the Justices sitting nearest to him, clapping like a seal on the rocks.

From Politico

POLITICO’s Kasie Hunt, who’s in the House chamber, reports that Justice Samuel Alito mouthed the words “not true” when President Barack Obama criticized the Supreme Court’s campaign finance decision.

“Last week, the Supreme Court reversed a century of law to open the floodgates for special interests — including foreign corporations — to spend without limit in our elections,” Obama said. “Well I don’t think American elections should be bankrolled by America’s most powerful interests, or worse, by foreign entities. They should be decided by the American people, and that’s why I’m urging Democrats and Republicans to pass a bill that helps to right this wrong.”

The shot of the black-robed Supreme Court justices, stone-faced, was priceless.

Oh but wait. We have come to this address to the nation’s version of the Joe Wilson “YOU LIE” moment. Justice Alito, who clearly was not particularly impressed with the Presidents hutzpah, gave a reaction that has set the political world on fire today. Check out the video here.

Well, it wasn’t quite a “You Lie” moment, but it was however a “that’s not true” moment for Justice Samuel Alito, who voted with the majority in the 5-4 decision which struck down elements of the McCain/Feingold campaign finance law.

Again, we see the President lying to the American people, using scare tactics to bully his point across, blatantly telling falsehoods to the elation of his parties caucus. As a constitutional attorney, it is almost comical that he did not seem to research out the decision as it was given, neither reading the majority opinion or the dissenting opinion. It was obvious. Even the most novice of us who follow the Washington game can recognize his failure to educate himself on an issue explicitly put in his speech to attempt to discredit the Court and score cheap political points.  For a more detailed analysis, Bradley Smith, who is a distinguished professor of law at the Capital University Law School weighed in on the subject in the Corner, the blog for the National Review.  Emphasis mine.

Tonight the president engaged in demogoguery of the worst kind, when he claimed that last week’s Supreme Court decision in Citizens United v. FEC, “open[ed] the floodgates for special interests — including foreign corporations — to spend without limit in our elections. Well I don’t think American elections should be bankrolled by America’s most powerful interests, or worse, by foreign entities.”

The president’s statement is false.

The Court held that 2 U.S.C. Section 441a, which prohibits all corporate political spending, is unconstitutional. Foreign nationals, specifically defined to include foreign corporations, are prohibiting from making “a contribution or donation of money or ather thing of value, or to make an express or implied promise to make a contribution or donation, in connection with a Federal, State or local election” under 2 U.S.C. Section 441e, which was not at issue in the case. Foreign corporations are also prohibited, under 2 U.S.C. 441e, from making any contribution or donation to any committee of any political party, and they prohibited from making any “expenditure, independent expenditure, or disbursement for an electioneering communication.”

This is either blithering ignorance of the law or demagoguery of the worst kind

Of course, the Democrat caucus loved it. Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-NY) commented afterward to Politico.

“He [Alito] deserved to be criticized, if he didn’t like it he can mouth whatever they want,” Weiner said. “These Supreme Court justices sometimes forget that we live in the real world. They got a real world reminder tonight, if you make a boneheaded decision, someone’s going to call you out on it.”

This actually goes to show the irony of the last name of the honorable representative from New York. The President never mentioned Alito, who in fact did not even write the majority opinion in the case. However, it is good to see that the Democrats have decided to wage war on the Supreme Court. Justice Alito would eat the lunch of any and all on the issue at hand, as he heard the case, researched the case, and adjudicated on the matter. This is not a debate that the Dem’s should try to engage in, it is one they cannot win and one that would make them look silly. But, Weiner apparently wants to make a showcase of the Alito reaction. It won’t play well Congressman.

Randy Barnett from the Georgetown University School of law weighs in.

In the history of the State of the Union has any President ever called out the Supreme Court by name, and egged on the Congress to jeer a Supreme Court decision, while the Justices were seated politely before him surrounded by hundreds Congressmen? To call upon the Congress to countermand (somehow) by statute a constitutional decision, indeed a decision applying the First Amendment? What can this possibly accomplish besides alienating Justice Kennedy who wrote the opinion being attacked. Contrary to what we heard during the last administration, the Court may certainly be the object of presidential criticism without posing any threat to its independence. But this was a truly shocking lack of decorum and disrespect towards the Supreme Court for which an apology is in order. A new tone indeed.

I haven’t been able to find much in favor of Obama’s decision to throw a political grenade at the court. Even the hyper liberal WH mouthpiece NY Times offered up analysis in its blog condemning the decision and the statement, deriding the Presidents clear lack of knowledge on the subject that he wanted to make a point on.

I will have more on the State of the Union address throughout the day, but I felt like I needed to get this one off my chest first. For a general roundup, go here.

Or Check out some of these.

Womens groups attack women who choose life

tim_tebow_(2)The attacks focus on an advertisement from Focus on the Family that is scheduled to air during the Super Bowl, which tells the story of Tim Tebow and his mother.

For those that do not know, Tebow is the graduating Florida Gator quarterback and former Heisman Trophy winner who during his college career made no secret of his faith in Jesus Christ and the pedigree from which he was raised.

Tim Tebow was born on August 14, 1987 in the Philippines to Bob and Pam Tebow, who were serving as Christian missionaries at the time. While pregnant Pam suffered a life-threatening infection with a pathogenic amoeba. Because of the drugs used to rouse her from a coma and to treat her dysentery, the fetus experienced a severe placental abruption. Doctors expected a stillbirth and recommended an abortion to protect her life. She carried Timothy to term, and both survived.

Florida St Florida Football

It’s a story that celebrates life. That is the crux of the entire ad. At this time, nobody has ACTUALLY SEEN the ad, but womens “rights” groups are furious at what they think will be contained within it. It’s purely ludicrous. Everyone is well aware of the ideological leanings of Focus on the Family, and they have asserted that the ad will simply celebrate the life of Tebow, not preach on one of the most divisive issues in our country today. Progressive pro-abortion zealots of course do not want you to see the ad, because it may *gasp* dissuade women from aborting their babies. How dare a soon-to-be professional athlete tell the story of how he was born, and a remarkable story it is. Here is Tim Tebow reacting to all of the criticism today. I continue to stand in awe of this young man, and the potential he has, and is already doing in promoting his faith and values.

Sarah Palin also rode in to the rescue and absolutely clobbered the so-called womens “rights” groups like NOW, NARAL, and their anti-women anti-life criticism. I guess its only a womans right to abort, not to share the story of how she didn’t. From former governor Palin’s Facebook page via the Gateway Pundit.

Women’s Rights groups, like NOW, commendably call out advertisers and networks for airing sexist and demeaning portrayals of women that lead to young women’s diminished self-esteem and acceptance of roles as mere sexed-up objects.

What a ridiculous situation they’re getting themselves into now with their protest of CBS airing a pro-life ad during the upcoming Super Bowl game. The ad will feature Heisman trophy winner Tim Tebow and his mom, and they’ll speak to the sanctity of life and the beautiful potential within every innocent child as Mrs. Tebow acknowledges her choice to give Tim life, despite less than ideal circumstances. Messages like this empower women! This speaks to the strength and commitment and nurturing spirit within women. The message says everything positive and nothing negative about the power of women – and life. Evidently, some women’s rights groups like NOW do not like that message.

NOW is looking at the pro-life issue backwards. Women should be reminded that they are strong enough and smart enough to make decisions that allow for career and educational opportunities while still giving their babies a chance at life. In my own home, my daughter Bristol has also been challenged by pro-abortion “women’s rights” groups who don’t agree with her decision to have her baby, nor do they like the abstinence message which she articulated as her personal commitment. NOW could gain ground and credibility with everyday Americans, thus allowing their pro-women message to be heard by more than just their ardent supporters, if they made wiser decisions regarding which battles to pick.

Penny Nance of the pro-life womens group Concerned Women of America had this take, via LifeNews.com.

“NOW’s outcry over Tebow’s pro-life ad is nothing less than hypocritical. Where were they when CBS has aired programs like Dexter, in which the protagonist is a serial killer?” she asked.

“I find it laughable that NOW has a problem with Tim Tebow sharing his own story. If NOW really cared about women they would stop flacking for the abortion industry and start working on behalf of women and resolving our concerns about real problems such as sexually exploitative and violent content on television,” she told LifeNews.com.

CBS is standing by the ad, and at this point WILL air it during the Super Bowl. Show your support for them to get this message out, that there really can be choice when it comes to reproductive rights…that choice is life.

Air America gets the wind knocked out of it

I guess its because they lost their superstar radio personality to the US Senate *end sarcasm here*

From ABC News:

Air America Radio, a radio network that was launched in 2004 as a liberal alternative to Rush Limbaugh and other conservative commentators, on Thursday shut down abruptly due to financial woes.

The network once boasted hosts such as Al Franken and Rachel Maddow, but struggled from the outset, including multiple management shake-ups, a bankruptcy in 2006 and sale for $4.25 million the following year.

Air America ceased airing new programs Thursday afternoon and said it will soon file to be liquidated under Chapter 7 bankruptcy. It began broadcasting reruns of programs and would end those as well Monday night.

“The very difficult economic environment has had a significant impact on Air America’s business. This past year has seen a `perfect storm’ in the media industry generally,” the company said in a statement on its Web site.

The New York-based network said its “painstaking search for new investors” came close to succeeding even this week, “but ultimately fell short.”

Franken Stuart smalleyI guess its just more evidence that center-right America has no use for the liberal rantings far left ideology. We get enough of that swill from the mainstream media (which I might add is currently dying as well) on a daily basis.

Speaking of liberal incoherent rantings…everyones famous underviewed liberal turd was at it again in the wake of the Scott Brown victory in Massachusetts. Since hardly anybody actually saw this live (Fox News beat MSNBC almost 7 to 1 on election night) I figured I would give everyone an opportunity to see how lost and undone these people really all. I give you….Keith Olbermann. Enjoy.

Unfortunately the video cuts short at the 2:43 mark, shortly after that ole’ Keith wet his pants, which was quickly followed by his head exploding. Classic footage. Like I said, nobody was actually watching this.

Things Arabs Think Are Funny…

…Making light of 9/11.

DEARBORN, Mich. — About 15 Arab-American students at Edsel Ford High School are in trouble over a class sweatshirt they had made over the holiday break. The class of 2011 sweatshirt has the number 11 made to look like the World Trade Center Towers.

The school’s mascot, a Thunderbird, is seen flying toward the number.

Under the graphic, a tagline reads, “You can’t bring us down.”

The students wore the hooded sweatshirts to school Monday. They were immediately sent to the principal’s office.

The kids will not be punished, a decision the ACLU applauds.  After all, it’s not like they were wearing a pro-life shirt. Because then, there would be Hell to pay.

WH Declares war on Fox; still wobbly on Afghanistan

The indecision of President Barack Obama in Afghanistan is starting to make sense now. He is putting the attention of the White House on Fox News Channel and taking the fight to them instead of the sworn enemies of the United States, you might remember them as the Taliban and Al-Qaeda.

Most of us have seen by now the jaw dropping ignorance of interim White House communications director Anita Dunn a few days ago on CNN declaring all out war on Rupert Murdoch’s wildly successful media conglomerate, declaring them to not be a news station at all, but merely the research arm and communications arm of the Republican party. For those that missed it, here is the video.

Ms. Dunn is clearly unaware of the difference between news and opinion. Clearly Fox has its opinion shows, and there is undoubtedly a conservative bent to those shows. Glenn Beck and Sean Hannity are obviously staunch conservatives. Bill O’reilly falls into more of a moderate conservative mold, Greta Van Susteren the same. What Ms. Dunn has obviously failed to recognize is the numerous voices on the network that fall into the liberal side of the equation. Geraldo Rivera?? Bob Beckel, Pad Caddell and the list goes on of pundits, talking heads and contributors they have on the network to give both sides of the story. Makes for great entertainment. It also is what Americans want. NBC, ABC, CNN, CBS, MSNBC are so ridiculously in the tank for any and all Democrats (especially the Chosen One) that Americans are turning them off. On any given night, Fox beats them senseless in the ratings…Combined!

Neil Cavuto absolutely blasted Anita Dunn on his show with the most common sense logic you could possibly apply to that level of ignorance.

So why is the administration taking on Fox News? What could possibly be gained by this strategy. It is politically ignorant, and sets a dangerous precedent to attempt to intimidate the ONLY news station that is not completely in the tank for you. It really makes CNN and the rest of the sheep media look pathetic, because it simply illustrates the point that they are unwilling to print, opine, or produce any sort of coverage that might be critical of the President, and it appears to be at the behest of the Executive branch.  The reason is clear. Fox News has skyrocketing ratings. They are the highest they have ever been, and only going higher. Which is a clear indication to this administration that there is a growing unease and dissent among the American people when it comes to the force-fed policies of this administration. They see it, and they can’t stand it.  When the MSM even admits that carpet-bombing a news station that doesn’t conform is bad policy, then you know it must be real bad policy and strategy.

So as we continue to watch the Obama administration step up its attacks on American citizens and the place where they CHOOSE en masse to get their news, lets not forget about the soldiers in Afghanistan who have now endured 45 days of indecision on whether or not we want to win the war in Afghanistan.

Time to prioritize Mr. Obama.

Hardball Health Insurance Reform

Humana Inc, one of the nations largest healthcare insurers is the new target of the United States Government employing political intimidation and hardball tactics on the private company in response to a letter they sent out to their customers enrolled in the Medicare Advantage program about looming changes coming their way through the new health care reform bill, currently being brokered by Senate Finance Chairman Max Baucus (D-MT). This is amazing by even Obama administration standards to go after a private company voicing its opposition to the Presidents plan. From WSJ.

Earlier this month, Humana sent a one-page letter to its customers enrolled in its Medicare Advantage plans, which offer private options to Medicare beneficiaries. Humana noted that, because of spending cuts proposed by Democrats, “millions of seniors and disabled individuals could lose many of the important benefits and services that make Medicare Advantage health plans so valuable.” The Kentucky-based company also urged its customers to contact their Representatives. Pretty tame stuff, as these things go.

Mr. Baucus took it as a declaration of war. He complained to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, the federal health-care agency, which on Friday duly ordered Humana to cease and desist. CMS claimed the mailer was “misleading and confusing” and told the company it has opened an official probe as to whether the mailer violated laws about how the insurers that manage Advantage plans are allowed to communicate with their customers, as well as other federal statutes.

“Please be advised that we take this matter very seriously and, based upon the findings our investigation, will pursue compliance and enforcement actions,” CMS concluded, ominously. Humana could be fined or booted from Medicare Advantage altogether.

Ah yes, nothing like the government vendetta against a private company, who one might consider the expert on the subject of health insurance reform. Now I am sure all of the haters out there will tell us that the only reason Humana would dare send that type of letter out is because they are the big greedy corporation ready to kill off any and every person on their rolls if it can save them a dollar, its the typical scare tactic from marxist progressives. But check out the facts here, they can after all be stubborn things.

In fact, the Baucus draft legislation slashes $123 billion over the next decade from Medicare Advantage, which Democrats hate despite the fact that almost one-fourth of beneficiaries have chosen it over traditional fee-for-service Medicare. One reason seniors like it is because private insurers focus on quality and preventive care and try to manage benefits, as opposed to simply paying bills.

A new study from America’s Health Insurance Plans, the industry trade group, finds that seniors on Advantage in California spent 30% fewer days in hospitals over fee-for-service patients, based on federal data. Democrats say that insurers are “overpaid,” but the cuts—as Humana correctly noted—mean that seniors may lose this coverage.

Mr. Baucus doesn’t want seniors to be educated about these facts, and obviously he’s willing to use his enormous power to punish any private company that doesn’t affirm his, well, creative version of reality. Nearly half of Humana’s yearly revenue comes from Medicare Advantage, and the insurer says that it is complying in full with the CMS investigation. Yesterday, the agency also barred all Advantage insurers from providing similar information to their beneficiaries.

max-baucusWhere are the Republicans in Congress standing up to this sort of over the top tyrannical behavior on the part of Baucus and the CMS. This is clearly part of their overarching strategy of intimidation and stifling of dissent in this country. We have watched it happen with all of the brushing aside of the teaparty movements, the outcry at the townhalls this past summer and every other opposing view of the Presidents healthcare proposal. It seems that once again, powerful Congressman are being allowed to run amock, while their colleagues stand idly by and watch. If Humana broke the law in their communique to their customers, then so be it, prosecute them. But the writing is on the wall here that the plan is to spin around some vague interpretation of a law and make an example.

It is sickening behavior on the part of the Obama administration. It does however fit the character of this Chicago-thugocracy that currently resides in the White House.  Its a non-violent crackdown on the part of the United States Government to silence dissent. Its un-Constitutional and needs to be called out. I am sure we  won’t see it on the DNC’s Call em Out website though.

Maxine Waters: Probe the birthers and teabaggers

commiemaxinewaters1This woman is pure class and dignity.

Race-baiting socialist Congresswoman from California Maxine Waters told Bill Press today on his radio show that she wanted all the “teabaggers and birthers” interviewed so that we can expose our own racism. Supposedly if you put us all in front of a camera, we are going to show our true colors (pun intended). Waters joins the ever growing list of race baiting politicians, leftists, pundits and Hollywood actors all crying wolf on the issue of racism in America. It does exist, however not on the all encompassing scale that these fools apparently believe.

From the Hill.

The media should investigate the racial views of conservative activists like the ones who descended on Washington last weekend, one liberal congresswoman said Wednesday.

Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) said that it’s not enough for African-Americans to levy allegations of racism against the right-leaning protesters, and that the media must look into their views.

“I want those people talked to; I want them interviewed,” Waters told the liberal Bill Press Radio show in a podcast. “I want journalists to be all over those rallies and the marches with the birthers and the teabaggers.”

Maxine Waters shows her classless side by even using the term teabaggers, which of course we all know to be a vulgar and crude sexual reference, the term coined shortly after the first major round of teaparties on April 15.

Martin Luther King had a dream for equality. People like Maxine Waters are turning that dream of equality into a nightmare by consistently playing a race card that doesn’t exist. If Ms. Waters would have done even a little bit of homework on the subject, she would have been acutely aware of the fact that the 9/12 March on DC was targetted at Congress (hence, the rally on the Capitol lawn) and not the President. Yes, we disagree on the Presidents policies, but Congress has been the facilitator of his socialist agenda for 8 months now. Pelosi, Reid, Frank, Dodd, Hoyer, Dingell, Kennedy et all are WHITE FOLKS. Apparently this now means that all the teaparty protesters and 9/12 marchers apparently hate white people. Maxine, your logic is illogical.

In closing, Ms Waters I have some advice for you. You better get your 2010 campaign staff assembled early, and make sure it is a well oiled machine. Your stupidity and socialist elitist mentality will have you joining your constituents in the unemployment lines.

Just say no! To free speech in the House

74157023BS001_insidertradinDemocrats in Congress, namely Representative Louise Slaughter released her updated version of the House guidelines for talking trash about the President of the United States. When Obama loses in 2010, I’m wondering if these will stay in effect…but I digress. Slaughter is the Chairwoman of the United States House of Representatives Committee on Rules.

Some may call this the Joe Wilson clause…check it out.

As a guide for debate, it is permissible in debate to challenge the President on matters of policy. The difference is one between political criticism and personally offensive criticism. For example, a Member may assert in debate that an incumbent President is not worthy of re-election, but in doing so should not allude to personal misconduct. By extension, a Member may assert in debate that the House should conduct an inquiry, or that a President should not remain in office.

Under section 370 of the House Rules and Manual it has been held that a Member could:

  • refer to the government as “something hated, something oppressive.”
  • refer to the President as “using legislative or judicial pork.”
  • refer to a Presidential message as a “disgrace to the country.”
  • refer to unnamed officials as “our half-baked nitwits handling foreign affairs.”

Likewise, it has been held that a member could not:

  • call the President a “liar.”
  • call the President a “hypocrite.”
  • describe the President’s veto of a bill as “cowardly.”
  • charge that the President has been “intellectually dishonest.”
  • refer to the President as “giving aid and comfort to the enemy.”
  • refer to alleged “sexual misconduct on the President’s part.”

However, the Senate rules on decorum and debate do not prohibit personal references to the President. Senate Rule XIX governing decorum and debate is applied only to fellow Senators and “does not extend to the President, the Vice President, or Administration officials and a Senator cannot be called to order under rule XIX for comments or remarks about them…” (Senate Procedure, p. 741). The Senate rules also provide that Jefferson’s Manual is not part of the Senate rules (Ibid, p.754).

I am all for decorum, and there is no need to turn the House of Representatives into a free-for-all British style parliament, but if the President is openly lying in a speech to the members of Congress….well, you get my point.

We are all Racists (didn’t ya know?)

Here is a letter to the editor published in the Detroit Free Press today. It about says it all.

Thank goodness for Mitch Albom! Without him I’d have never known I was a racist.

Here, I thought that I disagreed with the president’s policies because he nationalized some of the largest corporations in America (e.g. numerous banks, GM, Chrysler etc).
I thought that I disagreed with him because he has quadrupled the national debt and because he now wants to take over nearly 10% more of the US economy under the guise of fixing healthcare.

I thought that watching co-workers getting laid off by the dozen, and seeing my friends and neighbors lose their jobs as federal unemployment reaches 10% was reason enough to disagree with the President. Now I know better.

Thanks to reading Mitch’s Sept. 13 column (”Yell at Obama a new low but not the last”), I now know that the reason I disagree with the president is that I’m actually a racist.

At first this news made me feel bad, but then Mitch pointed out that it wasn’t really my fault; it’s the fault of talk radio and cable TV (I should have known that I’m not bright enough to form my own opinions).

I now know that only Mitch’s talk radio show should be considered palatable.

Thanks again, Mitch, for straightening me out on this!

This concerned citizen from Michigan (apparently a racist, he now  knows it lol) wrote this in response to Mitch Alboms column published on September 13 in the Free Press where he arrogantly declared that disagreement with policy and ideology actually have nothing to do with policy and ideology. It stems from a deeper need to use the “N” word for a black President, and since we can’t do that, we can use the more socially acceptable terms such as anarchist, socialist, communist etc.

483px-joe_wilson_official_photo_portrait_colorThe premise of his argument is tied to the Rep. Joe Wilson story, which of course we have all heard by now the two words heard ’round the world. YOU LIE!  An amazing sentence, a tiny sentence, but a sentence that apparently is not to be used in the Congress of the United States of America. Certainly not during the middle of a speech that was in fact laced with half-truths, deception, and vagueries. Yes, we know that in the bill it says that your not to be able to get the public option if you are an illegal resident. But the following paragraphs and pages leave loopholes so large that a Mack truck could drive through it. No coverage for illegals, but absolutely no check system in place to acheive that statement. In essence, a half-truth or as my mother told me as a child. A  LIE.

For his lack of decorum in the joint session of Congress, Rep. Wilson did in fact apologize to the President. He acknowledged that he was in error by interrupting his speech (frankly, I disagree…if cheers from Dems are ok, why is dissent not ok?).  The President accepted his apology, effectively ending the story right? No, not even close. The silliness has only just begun. Fundraising for Wilsons upcoming election opponent spiked to amazing levels, as he was demonized by the DailyKos kooks, and the faux intellectualism of many lefty reporters. He was a racist, he didn’t disagree with Obama’s statement…he hated the fact that a black man delivered it. Its ludicrous. Race baiters across the country have apparently united to form a wall of separation around this President, to make sure he does not encounter any policy disagreements. After all, it only means your racist right?

So, in its typical useless form, the House undertook the unprecedented step of passing a resolution of disapproval for Rep. Wilsons behavior. It has never been done. It was a monumental waste of time.

The 240-179 vote on the resolution of disapproval reflected the sharp partisan divide over the issue. Democrats insisted that the South Carolina Republican take responsibility for what they said was a serious breach of decorum. Republicans characterized the vote as a political stunt.

Wilson himself would not back down on his position that he owed the House no apology. Surrounded by Republican supporters, Wilson said Obama had “graciously accepted my apology and the issue is over.”

Thank God for journalists like Megyn Kelly, who have been blessed with a measure of common sense and decency.

Here is a doozy from a man who has historically been proven to be one of, if not the most inept of this countries former Presidents. A man who cannot seem to take himself out of the news cycle and stop embarrassing himself. Oh Jimmy Carter, please stop it. You are becoming painful to swallow.

Wait, but Wilson isn’t the only racist in town. Over a million protesters took to Pennsylvania Avenue marching to the Capitol to put our racism on display for the world…I mean, everyone saw the pictures of the Patriots in their white hoods right? No..you didn’t. But the attempt to marginalize and demonize the outpouring of anger over government (if you were there, you would know that the majority of anger was aimed at the Congress, not the President).

Racism is a weak argument. You cannot debate the merits, you can’t defend the Presidents indefensable policy. His mindset, his history, his associations, and his actions in the office of the President of the United States are admittedly progressive, which is merely double speak for socialist. Wait, according to Mitch Albom, that statement must be my inner racist coming out again. Ridiculous. Debate the facts.

Why Don’t You Care?

I have gotten lots of cop-out responses from otherwise good people when talking to them about what’s going on in the government right now.  This cop-out often comes after we talk about such atrocities as communists in our government, radical marxists changing our system and the possibility of forced abortions in America.  People seem to give up too easily.  I’m ready to fight.  I’m ready to fight with ideas and education.  I’m ready to fight and win this war.  However, many people I talk to don’t seem to have that fighting spirit.  Why is that?

One of the most popular excuses I’ve gotten comes from Christians.  Its a valid response to have initially, but its a terrible philosophy to end with.  The response I get is, “well, I just feel like we’re in the end-times.”  What they mean is, “Jesus is going to come back soon and snatch us all up, so I don’t have to try and do anything about the bad things that are going on now.”  If Jesus was coming back this weekend, I might have the same response.  However, we don’t know when Jesus is coming back.

What if He doesn’t come back for another thousand years?  What if He only waits another 100 years?  Do you want to allow injustice and extreme hardships to occur when you could have done something to stop it?  I don’t.  Do you think Jesus does?   I really don’t think that we should let bad things happen because we’re waiting for the end times.  I don’t think that is responsible at all.

Doesn’t the Bible talk a lot about fighting injustice?  Doesn’t the Bible tell us to take care of the widow and the fatherless?  I don’t think we should abandon these calls to action just because we think Jesus is coming back soon.

Birds of a feather

Mvd349425President Obama’s newest ally and friend is once again speaking out on his behalf.

Marxist dictator (or as he would contend Democratic torch bearer) Hugo Chavez let the whole world know again that his new best friend in the western hemisphere needs his help, and Obama certainly will get it. From Reuters:

Chavez was in Venice for the world premiere of “South of the Border,” director Oliver Stone’s sympathetic portrait of a leader he says has championed the poor and who has been unfairly demonized by the U.S. media.

“I have no reason to call him (Obama) the devil, and I hope that I am right,” Chavez told reporters in Venice.

“With Obama we can talk, we are almost from the same generation, one can’t deny that Obama is different (from Bush). He’s intelligent, he has good intentions and we have to help him.”

Yes, by the way, that is correct. Chavez was in Venice for the Venice Film Festival for the world premiere of Oliver Stone’s new movie “South of the Border” which highlights Hollywoods love affair with leftist dictators, notably Hugo Chavez. Stone clearly has lost his mind. We will be waiting for the film release that will highlight his takeover of the oil-rich nation, his strong-arm tactics in holding on to power, and for good measure maybe even his close alliance with other like-minded dictators such as Castro, Ahmadinejad and others.

Florida congressman Connie Mack blasted back at Oliver Stone today. (h/t Gateway pundit)

“Filmmaker Oliver Stone should be ashamed of this disgraceful movie. He, along with the likes of actors Danny Glover and Sean Penn, has shown his true colors by cozying up to Venezuela’s communist leader Hugo Chavez and honoring him in this new documentary

“It’s ironic that Stone, as an independent filmmaker, would prop up a dictator who has systematically quashed freedom of expression and freedom of the press in Venezuela.

“Stone recently said he was “rooting for this Bolivian movement.” Everyone is allowed their opinion. But once again, Stone is making up the facts.

“American moviegoers would be wise to ignore Stone’s blatant attempt to highlight his distortion of the facts and Hugo Chavez’s vitriol against the United States.”

Yes, it is ironic Congressman Mack. The dolts in Hollywood can’t seem to understand that the capitalist system under which we operate has given them the lives they so enjoy.

God Bless America and the freedom of speech that she offers these moviemaker morons to produce this type of garbage.

The Tea Party Movement rolls on

And now, its rolling on in the literal sense.

teapartyexpress

The Teaparty Express left Sacramento California on August 28, and will be holding Tea Parties across the nation all the way up until September 12, when the movement will culminate in Washington DC for the grand daddy of them all. The 9/12 March on the Capitol.

One way or another, the government will listen to its citizens.

Check out the Teaparty Express blog for daily updates as they move across the country. The Political Fish wants to encourage Americans that are fed up with this government and their intrusions into the lives of everyday citizens to attend one of the tea party rallies as this group of patriots travels across the country. There is a schedule on the website of where they will be. Today, the group travelled through New Mexico, and it is on to El Paso Texas tommorow.

The Tea party movement has been brewing now for almost 6 months. It started as a small gathering in February, grew exponentially by April 15th, when an estimated 1 million Americans showed up at their local event to protest an overreaching government. The numbers swelled again on July 4th, as our nation celebrated its independence by reminding the government just who is still in charge, according to our founding documents. As we move towards the 9/12 event, there are now many more events scheduled across the nation, for those who simply cannot make the trip to the capitol.

Anger is building in middle America. People are not going to take much more of this administrations, or the government as a whole, much longer. It has overstepped, overreached, and underestimated its citizenry. With the teaparties, we have begun to take back the control of this nation, as it was intended by our founders.

This ain’t America no more, ok?

So says Officer Wesley Cheeks at the Reston VA townhall meeting with Rep. Jim Moran, with special guest appearance by Howard Dean.

Of course, like every other townhall held in the last month, it was jam-packed inside, so many of the protesters and citizens were left outside. Here is the scene from August 25th, 2009 in Reston Virginia.

At the beginning of the clip, you could see exactly what the sign was that was being held up. It read “Organizing for National Socialist Healthcare” with the Joker picture of President Obama. Nothing graphic, nothing disturbing, just this man excercising his right to free speech. The officer decided to put an end to that. Then he spoke words that ring true for Obama’s agenda. “This ain’t America no more ok?”
Well, no…not ok Officer Cheeks. This is still America. The Constitution, no matter how much you despise the words, is STILL the law of the land.

jim_moran_3Meanwhile, inside the school it was more of the same for lawmakes attempting to take on their constituents and stuff healthcare down the throats of the American people. One patriot, after being told he was a fraud and not who he claimed to be (ID notwithstanding) asked a very intelligent question to the healthcare debate. One that sadly has not been addressed in the monstrosity that is HR 3200. Tort Reform. Check out Howard Dean’s answer, after Rep. Moran dodged the question.

howard20deanAmazingly honest from Dr. Dean. Scared to take on the true root of the problem. Democrats decry healthcare cost and its never-ending ascension, well malpractice insurance for doctors is a very strong reason for that. But, real reform would mean taking on a very powerful lobby group…don’t want to do that.

This goes to show exactly what is meant to be achieved in this healthcare bill. Reform is not the goal. Power is the goal. This government does not care about the people, it does not care about individual rights in healthcare, it does not care about making it more readily available. It cares solely about power.

Healthcare Ad shunned by MSM

Since the mainstream media, aka state controlled media will  not show this ad regarding the Presidents healthcare plan, it is up to the rest of us to spread it around. Ironic that ABC of all people decided that due to “misinformation” on this ad, they could not run it without substantive changes. This is the same network that ran the hourlong informercial in favor of ObamaCare a month ago. The ad below was produced and distributed by a group called the League of American Voters.

Here is the ad. Its called truth, and the networks hate such a vile word.

You won’t see this on any major network. Only alternative media. What will our country become as we begin to lose a free press, a press that only works as a government propaganda tool? Ask Iran, they would know.

Stop Snitchin!!

Flag@Whitehouse.gov is no more.

Earlier this month the White House enlisted the citizen “snitch brigade” to rat out fellow citizens about what the White House deemed as misinformation in the healthcare debate. Misinformation such as Sarah Palin’s characterization of the healthcare rationing plan as “death panels”...We have been told that there was nothing to this craziness put forward by Sarah Palin, until oddly enough the provision was removed from the bill late last week. Weird…misinformation? How could it be misinformation if it was promptly removed?

More of the misinformation included the obvious agenda of using the public option as a “foot in the door” towards a single payer, universal healthcare system. This is patently false according to the Great Obama, the government would never do such a thing. He says that he does not want the government meddling into the health affairs of everyday Americans. To imply such would be not only “fishy” but also a conservative Nazi scare tactic to strong arm Americans to not support his initiative. Yet strangely, after weeks of getting hammered in the debate, the administration now says that it does not need the public option. Weird. By the way, I have more to say on this issue, as I believe that backing off the public option is a temporary political move to gauge the leftist’s reaction.

But all this snitching must come to an end. The administration (who by the way never answered any of the tough questions from Senator Cornyn and others) have disabled the email address, which will bounce back a response if you try. You are not apparently supposed to just go to some other taxpayer funded website being used for political purposes.

E-mails to that address now bounce back with the message: “The e-mail address you just sent a message to is no longer in service. We are now accepting your feedback about health insurance reform via http://www.whitehouse.gov/realitycheck.”

The “flag” service was introduced Aug. 4, with a White House blog post saying: “There is a lot of disinformation about health insurance reform out there, spanning from control of personal finances to end of life care. These rumors often travel just below the surface via chain emails or through casual conversation. Since we can’t keep track of all of them here at the White House, we’re asking for your help. If you get an email or see something on the web about health insurance reform that seems fishy, send it to flag@whitehouse.gov.”

So for all of you tattle-tales on the left…unfortunately your fun is over. I must admit that I was sending my own stories in just as a small form of resistance to the idiocy of having fellow citizens rat on each other over legitimate dissent and debate.  Strange that the wide-ranging list of government agencies started visiting my site shortly after. But I am sure the White House wasn’t keeping score…I mean, thats just more misinformation on my part!
