Okeefe sets record straight on arrest

ACORN - JAMES O'KEEFEACORN antagonist James O’keefe III was arrested this week at the office of Louisiana Senator Mary Landieu’s office for what was initially reported as his attempt to bug the phone lines. O’keefe and three other men, two of whom were posed as phone system repairmen were arrested by the U.S Marshall service. The media of course have gone into a feeding frenzy (one will remember the cautious silence after Okeefe exposed ACORN this past summer) at the idea that O’keefe a conservative activist and overnight star had crossed the line. The story came out hot from the Associated Press, check out the details on Big Government.com

A conservative activist who posed as a pimp to target the community-organizing group ACORN and the son of a federal prosecutor were among four people arrested by the FBI and accused of trying to interfere with phones at Sen. Mary Landrieu’s office.

Activist James O’Keefe, 25, was already in Landrieu’s New Orleans office Monday when Robert Flanagan and Joseph Basel, both 24, showed up claiming to be telephone repairmen, U.S. Attorney Jim Letten’s office said Tuesday. Letten says O’Keefe recorded the two with his cell phone.

Flanagan, the son of acting U.S. Attorney Bill Flanagan in Shreveport, and Basel asked for access to a phone at the reception desk. Then they asked for access to a phone closet so they could work on the phone system. The men were directed to another office in the building, where they again said they were telephone repairmen.

They were arrested later by the U.S. Marshal’s Service. Details of the arrest were not available. A fourth man, Stan Dai, 24, was also arrested, but Letten’s office said only that he assisted the others in planning, coordinating and preparing the operation.

Federal officials did not say why the men wanted to interfere with Landrieu’s phones or whether they were successful. Landrieu, a moderate Democrat, declined comment Tuesday. She has been in the news recently because she negotiated an increase in Medicaid funds for her state before announcing her support for Senate health care legislation.

Of course, the media got it wrong. MSNBC and its counterparts in the leftist media had O’keefe tried, convicted and sentenced in the first day. Of course we all know that is not how things work here. Andrew Breitbart, who became inextricably linked with O’keefe and Hannah Giles this summer, issued this statement in the immediate aftermath.

“We have no knowledge about or connection to any alleged acts and events involving James O’Keefe at Senator Mary Landrieu’s office.  We only just learned about the alleged incident this afternoon.  We have no information other than what has been reported publicly by the press.  Accordingly, we simply are not in a position to make any further comment.”

Just because the media says so, doesn’t mean its true. They understand that the majority of people out there will not look into the matter deeper, therefore they can say what they want, and not have to worry about it. This is what happened here. The FBI affadavit says nothing of tapping, or bugging the Senators phone lines, however that is the story that was thrown out as if it was the truth.

O’keefe released this statement yesterday, after federal agents concurred that there was NO evidence of the 4 young men tapping the phone lines. They were originally arrested and charged with entering a federal facility under false pretenses, which of course they did and admitted to.

The government has now confirmed what has always been clear:  No one tried to wiretap or bug Senator Landrieu’s office.  Nor did we try to cut or shut down her phone lines.  Reports to this effect over the past 48 hours are inaccurate and false.

As an investigative journalist, my goal is to expose corruption and lack of concern for citizens by government and other institutions, as I did last year when our investigations revealed the massive corruption and fraud perpetrated by ACORN.  For decades, investigative journalists have used a variety of tactics to try to dig out and reveal the truth.

I learned from a number of sources that many of Senator Landrieu’s constituents were having trouble getting through to her office to tell her that they didn’t want her taking millions of federal dollars in exchange for her vote on the healthcare bill.  When asked about this, Senator Landrieu’s explanation was that, “Our lines have been jammed for weeks.”  I decided to investigate why a representative of the people would be out of touch with her constituents for “weeks” because her phones were broken.  In investigating this matter, we decided to visit Senator Landrieu’s district office – the people’s office – to ask the staff if their phones were working.

Go here to read the remainder of his statement, where he decries the treatment  he has received from the media. Big Journalism.com, which was launched by Andrew Breitbart this month with the intention of exposing the media for what it has become, has begun demanding retractions from all the major media and new media outlets that unfairly smeared O’keefe this week.

It should be noted that the Washington Post already issued their retraction of the story, nothing from the NY Times who completely missed the ACORN story, and likely missed this one too. The Old Gray Lady is on her last legs I guess, can’t seem to do any real journalism.

Kyle-Ann Shriver wrote an excellent commentary on the MSM drowning in its ideology and foregoing real journalism. Check it out. Here is an excerpt.

As two former top-echelon radicals, David Horowitz and Peter Collier, documented in their book, The Destructive Generation, the radical communist revolutionaries of the 1960s never went away.  They simply left the streets and poured into American institutions, working their ideology into every university.  Their primary targets were the law and journalism schools, the colleges of education and the machinery of the Democratic Party.  In all of these endeavors, they have been amazingly successful.

Horowitz and Collier summarized the ultimate aim, as elucidated by the movement’ chief philosopher, John Jacobs, thusly:

The idea was not to create a perfect state operating by the clockwork principles of Marxist law but to promote a chaos that would cripple America and ultimately cast it into receivership that would be administered by the morally superior third world.

The American mainstream media, after several decades of this leftist ideology permeating journalism schools, now works on a predictable paradigm.

The game changer?

Last Friday, Sarah Palin noted on her facebook page that the Saturday Republican response to Obama’s weekly address would be the health care game changer.

Mark my words – tomorrow is the game changer! Tune in to hear common sense solutions that bury the false accusations that conscientious members of Congress have no solutions to meet America’s health care challenges.

If you’re like me, shaking your head wondering why all the miscommunication between Washington and the American people who have been saying, “Please hear what we’re saying about our desire for health care reform,” then tomorrow will be a refreshing time of clarity for all.

All Americans, and especially colleagues of House Republican Leader John Boehner: please listen to tomorrow’s weekly GOP national address. Rep. Boehner will highlight a common sense alternative to Speaker Pelosi’s 1,990-page government takeover of health care. I urge you to watch for it. For a preview, go to: http://healthcare.gop.gov/

You’ll hear solutions. You’ll hear of real choices based on America’s proven free-market principles. You’ll know once and for all what the GOP and Independents have been saying all along about alternatives to another big government take over. After tomorrow, you’ll know that accusations against the GOP and Independents for not providing solutions are false. Those claims are bogus. There are alternatives. Tune in to Rep. Boehner’s address tomorrow to hear them.

I look forward to the game changer!

- Sarah Palin

House Minority Leader John Boehner delivered the address to the nation, and unfortunately it didn’t sound like much of a game changer at all. It was nothing new, nothing all that exciting, and frankly nothing other than what I myself have been saying here on the Political Fish for the past 3 months. I would have expected more, but in case you missed it, here it is. I will give Mr. Boehner some credit for calling out what this bill is really all about, its about centralizing 1/6 of the private sector in Washington DC.

From the Republican House website, here are the talking points, which are all good points, just nothing new. No attention grabbers here.

What Americans want are common-sense, responsible solutions that address the rising cost of health care and other major problems. In the national Republican address on Saturday, October 31, 2009, House Republican Leader John Boehner (R-OH) discussed Republicans’ plan for common-sense health care reform our nation can afford.  Boehner’s address emphasized four common-sense reforms that will lower health care costs and expand access to quality care without a government takeover of our nation’s health care system that kills jobs, raises taxes on small businesses, or cuts Medicare for seniors:

  • Number one: let families and businesses buy health insurance across state lines.
  • Number two: allow individuals, small businesses, and trade associations to pool together and acquire health insurance at lower prices, the same way large corporations and labor unions do.
  • Number three: give states the tools to create their own innovative reforms that lower health care costs.
  • Number four: end junk lawsuits that contribute to higher health care costs by increasing the number of tests and procedures that physicians sometimes order not because they think it’s good medicine, but because they are afraid of being sued.

White House, Schumer involved in Dede endorsement?

It sure looks that way.

From the Watertown Daily News

Sen. Charles E. Schumer, D-N.Y., was among those who urged Dierdre K. Scozzafava to endorse Democratic congressional candidate William L. Owens, the senator’s spokesman said Saturday.

The spokesman, Maxwell Young, said the senator called a number of north country political leaders after Ms. Scozzafava suspended her campaign and had more than one conversation with the Republican candidate ahead of her announcement. He said the senator also called other Democratic leaders about the situation, including White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel.

Mr. Owens said he was “honored” by the endorsement.

“Over the course of her career, Dede has always committed to serving the people of Upstate New York before serving a partisan agenda,” he said in a statement. “Now more than ever we need bipartisan solutions to help bring jobs to Upstate New York to get our economy back on track and move our country forward. Those are the kinds of priorities I will fight for in Congress because that’s the kind of leadership Upstate New York needs right now.”

Those in the camp of the Conservative candidate Douglas L. Hoffman called Ms. Scozzafava a turncoat.

“This afternoon Dede Scozzafava betrayed the GOP,“ Senior Communications Advisor Rob Ryan said in a statement. “She endorsed a Pelosi Democrat who will spend more, tax more, and push the liberal agenda that is dragging down this nation.

A bit odd that shortly after endorsing Hoffman, which she did yesterday that she would receive a call from White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel, and within hours go 180 degrees and endorse the Democrat.

I smell some pay for play. The question is what was she offered.

It is time to make sure Doug Hoffman wins this election. The White House has thrown its hat into the ring, attempting to influence the outcome.  Visit the Hoffman website and see how you can help.

Dede drops out

Breaking from Fox News:

Republican state Assemblywoman Dierdre Scozzafava has suspended her campaign for upstate New York’s 23rd Congressional seat, giving a possible boost to Conservative Party nominee Doug Hoffman against Democrat Bill Owens, Fox News has confirmed.

The move comes on the heels of a new poll that showed Scozzafava had fallen behind her two competitors in a race too close.

The special election is Tuesday and political analysts believe upstate New York is a preview of the races in 2010 and 2012 as Republican leaders struggle to rebuild, redefine and regain control of Washington.

The Siena College poll has Owens picking up 36 percent of the vote, while Hoffman has 35 percent. Scozzafava has 20 percent, with nine percent of voters undecided.

Chalk this one up to a victory for conservatives nationwide. And shame on Newt Gingrich for backing a woman who was clearly a center-left Republican and not representative of the conservative district that she was tapped to represent.

It will now be a two-horse race in the NY-23 district run-off election. Doug Hoffman, the Conservative party candidate, and Bill Owens the Democrat. Most recent polling with Scozzafava still in the race showed a neck and neck affair with Owens at 36%, Hoffman 35% and Scozzafava checking in with 20%.

doug-hoffmanDoug Hoffman garnered national attention for jumping into the race as a third party candidate after he was passed over in the selection process of the district. He attracted endorsements of many high-profile Republicans nationwide, as well as the teaparty activists who flocked towards upstate New York to lend their support.

This is what the Republican party needs. The big-tent philosophy of this party is what has gotten them into trouble in national elections recently. The base is motivated, and they are conservative.  Conservatives nationwide want to keep this country true to the principles it was founded upon, and this will be the start in retaking what has become an out of control governmental machine.

Now its time to watch the Governors races in New Jersey and Virginia.

Update:

From Newt Gingrich on Twitter:

newtgingrich Scozzafava dropping out leaves hoffman as only anti-tax anti-pelosi vote in ny 23 Every voter opposed to tax increases support doug hoffman

Update:
Dede’s statement, from Politico:
Scozzafava’s statement:

Dear Friends and Supporters:

Throughout the course of my campaign for Congress, I have made the people of the 23rd District and the issues that affect them the focal point of my campaign. As a life long resident of this District, I care deeply and passionately about its people and our way of life. Whether as a candidate for Congress, a State Assemblywoman or a small town Mayor, I have always sought to act with the best interest of our District and its residents in mind—and today I again seek to act for the good of our community.

The opportunity to run as the Republican and Independence Party candidate to represent the 23rd District has been and remains one of the greatest honors of my life. During the past several months, as I’ve traveled the district, meeting and talking with voters about the issues that matter most to them, I’ve been overwhelmed by the amount of support I’ve received as I sought to serve as their voice in Washington. However, as Winston Churchill once said, Democracy can be a fickle employer, and the road to public office is not always a smooth one.

In recent days, polls have indicated that my chances of winning this election are not as strong as we would like them to be. The reality that I’ve come to accept is that in today’s political arena, you must be able to back up your message with money—and as I’ve been outspent on both sides, I’ve been unable to effectively address many of the charges that have been made about my record. But as I’ve said from the start of this campaign, this election is not about me, it’s about the people of this District. And, as always, today I will do what I believe serves their interests best.

It is increasingly clear that pressure is mounting on many of my supporters to shift their support. Consequently, I hereby release those individuals who have endorsed and supported my campaign to transfer their support as they see fit to do so. I am and have always been a proud Republican. It is my hope that with my actions today, my Party will emerge stronger and our District and our nation can take an important step towards restoring the enduring strength and economic prosperity that has defined us for generations.

On Election Day my name will appear on the ballot, but victory is unlikely. To those who support me – and to those who choose not to – I offer my sincerest thanks.

WH Declares war on Fox; still wobbly on Afghanistan

The indecision of President Barack Obama in Afghanistan is starting to make sense now. He is putting the attention of the White House on Fox News Channel and taking the fight to them instead of the sworn enemies of the United States, you might remember them as the Taliban and Al-Qaeda.

Most of us have seen by now the jaw dropping ignorance of interim White House communications director Anita Dunn a few days ago on CNN declaring all out war on Rupert Murdoch’s wildly successful media conglomerate, declaring them to not be a news station at all, but merely the research arm and communications arm of the Republican party. For those that missed it, here is the video.

Ms. Dunn is clearly unaware of the difference between news and opinion. Clearly Fox has its opinion shows, and there is undoubtedly a conservative bent to those shows. Glenn Beck and Sean Hannity are obviously staunch conservatives. Bill O’reilly falls into more of a moderate conservative mold, Greta Van Susteren the same. What Ms. Dunn has obviously failed to recognize is the numerous voices on the network that fall into the liberal side of the equation. Geraldo Rivera?? Bob Beckel, Pad Caddell and the list goes on of pundits, talking heads and contributors they have on the network to give both sides of the story. Makes for great entertainment. It also is what Americans want. NBC, ABC, CNN, CBS, MSNBC are so ridiculously in the tank for any and all Democrats (especially the Chosen One) that Americans are turning them off. On any given night, Fox beats them senseless in the ratings…Combined!

Neil Cavuto absolutely blasted Anita Dunn on his show with the most common sense logic you could possibly apply to that level of ignorance.

So why is the administration taking on Fox News? What could possibly be gained by this strategy. It is politically ignorant, and sets a dangerous precedent to attempt to intimidate the ONLY news station that is not completely in the tank for you. It really makes CNN and the rest of the sheep media look pathetic, because it simply illustrates the point that they are unwilling to print, opine, or produce any sort of coverage that might be critical of the President, and it appears to be at the behest of the Executive branch.  The reason is clear. Fox News has skyrocketing ratings. They are the highest they have ever been, and only going higher. Which is a clear indication to this administration that there is a growing unease and dissent among the American people when it comes to the force-fed policies of this administration. They see it, and they can’t stand it.  When the MSM even admits that carpet-bombing a news station that doesn’t conform is bad policy, then you know it must be real bad policy and strategy.

So as we continue to watch the Obama administration step up its attacks on American citizens and the place where they CHOOSE en masse to get their news, lets not forget about the soldiers in Afghanistan who have now endured 45 days of indecision on whether or not we want to win the war in Afghanistan.

Time to prioritize Mr. Obama.

Hardball Health Insurance Reform

Humana Inc, one of the nations largest healthcare insurers is the new target of the United States Government employing political intimidation and hardball tactics on the private company in response to a letter they sent out to their customers enrolled in the Medicare Advantage program about looming changes coming their way through the new health care reform bill, currently being brokered by Senate Finance Chairman Max Baucus (D-MT). This is amazing by even Obama administration standards to go after a private company voicing its opposition to the Presidents plan. From WSJ.

Earlier this month, Humana sent a one-page letter to its customers enrolled in its Medicare Advantage plans, which offer private options to Medicare beneficiaries. Humana noted that, because of spending cuts proposed by Democrats, “millions of seniors and disabled individuals could lose many of the important benefits and services that make Medicare Advantage health plans so valuable.” The Kentucky-based company also urged its customers to contact their Representatives. Pretty tame stuff, as these things go.

Mr. Baucus took it as a declaration of war. He complained to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, the federal health-care agency, which on Friday duly ordered Humana to cease and desist. CMS claimed the mailer was “misleading and confusing” and told the company it has opened an official probe as to whether the mailer violated laws about how the insurers that manage Advantage plans are allowed to communicate with their customers, as well as other federal statutes.

“Please be advised that we take this matter very seriously and, based upon the findings our investigation, will pursue compliance and enforcement actions,” CMS concluded, ominously. Humana could be fined or booted from Medicare Advantage altogether.

Ah yes, nothing like the government vendetta against a private company, who one might consider the expert on the subject of health insurance reform. Now I am sure all of the haters out there will tell us that the only reason Humana would dare send that type of letter out is because they are the big greedy corporation ready to kill off any and every person on their rolls if it can save them a dollar, its the typical scare tactic from marxist progressives. But check out the facts here, they can after all be stubborn things.

In fact, the Baucus draft legislation slashes $123 billion over the next decade from Medicare Advantage, which Democrats hate despite the fact that almost one-fourth of beneficiaries have chosen it over traditional fee-for-service Medicare. One reason seniors like it is because private insurers focus on quality and preventive care and try to manage benefits, as opposed to simply paying bills.

A new study from America’s Health Insurance Plans, the industry trade group, finds that seniors on Advantage in California spent 30% fewer days in hospitals over fee-for-service patients, based on federal data. Democrats say that insurers are “overpaid,” but the cuts—as Humana correctly noted—mean that seniors may lose this coverage.

Mr. Baucus doesn’t want seniors to be educated about these facts, and obviously he’s willing to use his enormous power to punish any private company that doesn’t affirm his, well, creative version of reality. Nearly half of Humana’s yearly revenue comes from Medicare Advantage, and the insurer says that it is complying in full with the CMS investigation. Yesterday, the agency also barred all Advantage insurers from providing similar information to their beneficiaries.

max-baucusWhere are the Republicans in Congress standing up to this sort of over the top tyrannical behavior on the part of Baucus and the CMS. This is clearly part of their overarching strategy of intimidation and stifling of dissent in this country. We have watched it happen with all of the brushing aside of the teaparty movements, the outcry at the townhalls this past summer and every other opposing view of the Presidents healthcare proposal. It seems that once again, powerful Congressman are being allowed to run amock, while their colleagues stand idly by and watch. If Humana broke the law in their communique to their customers, then so be it, prosecute them. But the writing is on the wall here that the plan is to spin around some vague interpretation of a law and make an example.

It is sickening behavior on the part of the Obama administration. It does however fit the character of this Chicago-thugocracy that currently resides in the White House.  Its a non-violent crackdown on the part of the United States Government to silence dissent. Its un-Constitutional and needs to be called out. I am sure we  won’t see it on the DNC’s Call em Out website though.

Obama dancing on the 10th Ammendment

That darn Constitution, it really gets in the way of the political ambitions of our President these days.  I mean, follow what the Constitution says, and we may not be able to stay a one-party ruled “democracy” any more.

kerry-football-catch21Recently the Fish revealed the back-room conversations that Obama was having with Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick regarding the replacement of Ted Kennedy in the United States Senate. Obama realizes that the guaranteed yes vote from the Chappaquidick-stained Kennedy is an absolute necessity in his fight to take over 17% of the US economy via the healthcare industry. He must have it, so he needs to manipulate the law of the State of Massachusetts in his favor, much as it was manipulated a few years back during the ill-fated campaign of John Kerry for President.

Now we hear that the White House is worried about the Governors race in the state of New York, where current Governor David Patterson is a very unpopular man these days. He has lost control of his government in recent months, and Albany has all but ground to a screeching halt as far as providing for the well-being of her citizenry.  That being said, its time for The One to intervene.

The Obama White House made the request to Paterson’s office under instructions from Obama’s key political advisers, two senior administration officials and a New York Democratic official told the New York Times Saturday evening.

The Obama administration has reportedly grown wary of Paterson’s statewide unpopularity, the officials said, fearing Paterson’s status in New York could demoralize other sitting Democrats in Congress.

“Is there concern about the situation in New York? Absolutely,” one of the administration officials told the Times. “Has that concern been conveyed to the governor? Yes,” the source said.

PATERSON HOSPITALGovernor Patterson basically told the President to go pound sand. He has stated that he will be running for re-election, even though the White House has even brought in Al Sharpton to advise the governor. No confirmation on what advice Sharpton will be giving (but one could assume it would be to go away).  Why would the White House be so concerned over the New York governors race? According to the NY Daily News, they are very concerned about the prospect of former NYC mayor Rudy Guiliani running against Patterson, and all polls show that the race would be over before it was even started.  The Obama administration would much rather see NY Attorney General Andrew Cuomo in the race against Rudy, as it would be much closer, with many polls showing Cuomo coming out on top.

From the “didn’t see this one coming” file, the Obama administration has vehemently denied telling Patterson to drop out of the race, only saying that of course they are acutely aware of the political situation in the key state of New York.  I’m sure the unnamed Democrat official made this story up for the NY Times and other media outlets to pounce on. So, since Obama is going up to NY today, all should be well right…I mean, if it never happened there should be no issues.

It seemed a little awkward in Albany, as President Obama was greeted on the tarmac by New York Gov. David Paterson, whom the White House has been suggesting should drop out of the governor’s race next year given his abysmal poll numbers.

The two attempted an uncomfortable hug of some sort, though later at a rope line in Troy, the president’s smile vanished when he once again was forced to greet Paterson.

At the event in Troy, the first-ever African-American president praised the heart of the first-ever African-American governor of New York.

But he beamed at Attorney General Andrew Cuomo and effusively praised the work of the man whom many Democrats would like to see pursue the governor’s mansion next year instead of Paterson.

Obama has not personally spoken with the governor about the race, “but it’s no secret that Democrats in New York are very concerned about the situation and those concerns have been conveyed in an appropriate way,” a source said.

The conveying of those concerns was first reported Saturday night by the New York Times.

“No one has ordered him out of the race,” the source said. “Nor does anyone have the authority to. He has to look at his situation and make the decision that he thinks is right for himself, the party and the state.”

Hmm, thats weird. I’m sure ABC News correspondent Jake Tapper made this up…

So back to the larger point here. If it were the DNC that was making these type of calls to Patterson and advising him against running for re-election than fine. The DNC is the political party. At what point did the White House become the political advisement wing of the DNC?? This unprecedented invasion into state politics should alarm the public, as it is not the place of the White House to be forcing their agenda on any state. We all know the President and Veep will be stumping for candidate across the country in the upcoming election cycle, its the way things work, but to attempt to strong-arm a candidate OUT of a race (a sitting governor no less) that has not even started is inappropriate to say the least.

The Obama Presidency has never stopped campaigning. They have a radical leftist agenda that MUST be forced through, and he will take whatever steps necessary to make that happen. If that is to intrude into every level of state sovereignty, than so be it. I mean, Alinsky preached the greater good philosophy right?

Too bad that darned Constitution with that pesky 10th Ammendment is still the law of the land. Obama is flirting with blatant disregard for the document that he is supposedly considered a scholar of.

Pelosi: Right is inciting violence

From Glenn Thrush:

An uncharacteristically emotional Nancy Pelosi is warning Republicans — and other groups getting whipped up over the health care debate — not to incite unstable supporters who might repeat acts of violence that struck San Francisco in the 1970s.

A top Pelosi aide later confirmed reporters’ suggestions that her statement was a reference to the City Hall murder of gay rights activist Harvey Milk and Mayor George Moscone in November 1978 — an earth-shattering experience for Bay Area Democrats like the speaker.

Pelosi stumbled when asked about Rep. Joe Wilson’s “You lie!” outburst and its impact on civility in the House, momentarily overcome by emotion.

“I think we all have to take action and responsibility for our words — we are a free country and this balance between freedom and safety is one that we, um, have to carefully balance,” said Pelosi, who made no direct mention of Republicans.

A House leadership aide later told me that Democrats have become increasingly concerned by the ratcheting up of rhetoric on both sides — and particularly alarmed by the recent hanging in effigy of Rep. Frank Kratovil (D-Md.) by a tea party activist on the Eastern Shore.

“I have concerns about some of the language that is being used because I saw this myself in the late ’70s in San Francisco, this king of rhetoric. … It created a climate in which violence took place. … I wish we would all curb our enthusiasm in some of the statements and understand that some of the ears that it is falling on are not as balanced as the person making the statements may assume.”

FLASHBACK:

Ironic that right after Nancy Pelosi asserted the non-existent swastikas at the townhall meetings, all of a sudden, they actually did start popping up. Obviously I do not know who is responsible for this graffiti, whether it be an opponent of healthcare, or a proponent of healthcare but this is irresponsible and needs not to happen. Pelosi and her ilk want to silence the dissent by demonizing the dissenters, and if it was one of those dissenters who vandalized Rep. Scotts office, then you have just validated her inane argument. The conversation going on in America about healthcare is good, as long as it remains civil and legal. The beating in St. Louis last week, and this crime this week are not constructive.

This woman is something special, thats for sure. Wait..the video of her statement is even better, you can see the crocodile tears she chokes back, check this out.

As if Madam Speaker herself is not actually using the inflammatory rhetoric that may set someone off towards violence, lets check out what Comrade Obama had to say in his speech to the joint session of Congress last week.

“I will not waste time with those who have made the calculation that it’s better politics to kill this plan than improve it… If you misrepresent what’s in the plan, we will call you out.”

President Obama

callemout

We will call you out eh? That sounds like schoolyard trash talk to me, not the words of a statesmen trying to unite his country around a common cause. By the way, that quote was pulled off the Democrat party’s new website which would be the callout page of Democrat.org.

nancy-pelosi

Ms. Pelosi, put away your fake tears. As long as you continue to insult, demonize, diminish, and inflame regular Americans who disagree on policy, it seems you will have to live with the fear of reliving 70’s era San Francisco, which ironically enough was in the throes of a culture war at the time, very similar to what is happening in our great country right now. Weird, I know.

Boehner just doesn’t get it

From Townhall.com

House Republican leader John Boehner says nationwide protests known as “tea parties” are the result of pushback against Democrats’ spending.

Boehner says his Democratic colleagues are “bankrupting” the country.

People are demonstrating and attending town hall meetings because, Boehner says, “we’re in the midst of a political rebellion in America.”

Sorry John, the teaparties are more than just an opportunity for you to play political games against your Democrat opponents.

I like John Boehner, he is truly one of the few conservatives left, but he is dead wrong with that statement. He clearly has missed the entire point.

boehnerBoehner (R-OH) is correct on one hand, we are definetely in the midst of a political rebellion in this country, but sorry to say it sir, this has nothing to do with Democrat vs.  Republican and everything to do with out of control government. That would be Democrat AND Republican.  It has everything to do with liberty and freedom from an oppressive government bent on ruling the lives of each American individual.

The discontent (although much quieter) started during the Clinton and Bush years. It has reached a boiling point now, as the American public made the grave mistake of electing a progressive (aka socialist) in 2008. I stood shoulder to shoulder for many hours with a life-long Democrat in DC on 9/12 , who was there voicing his discontent at the government. All of it.

The Constitution is the law that rules our land. Our government has abandoned it as a guide. The GOP and the Democrats are both to blame, plenty to go around John.

Do not use the people to play political games. Your gamesmanship is no longer going unnoticed.

House Overwhelmingly votes to defund ACORN

HOUSE VOTES TO DEFUND ACORN

From BigGovernment.com, the House passed the “Defund ACORN act” today by a vote of 345-75. See the text of the ammendment above. Not surprisingly, all 75 votes to continue funding came from Democrats. This bill would effectively cut off ALL federal funding of the Association of Community Organizers for Reform Now (ACORN). This in response to all of the controversy surrounding the organization in recent days after Hannah Giles and James O’Keefe released their investigation of the group on BigGovernment.com.

acorn-logo1

Here is the list of 75 Democrat Representatives who opposed the measure. It might be interesting to look into their ties with ACORN, because even the ACORN CEO admits that the actions the world has seen in the last few days are indefensible. For some reason, this group of 75 would like to defend them. Interesting.

Shock and Awe Campaign on ACORN

It has been a whirlwind news cycle the last few days as video after video has been coming out exposing the corrupt underbelly of the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN).

hannah-gilesjames-okeefe

Andrew Breitbart and his new website BigGovernment.com has been absolutely destroying ACORN, and for his opening act he started releasing the videos and stories from Hannah Giles and James O’keefe as they sought to expose ACORN for who they really are, and contacted Breitbart to get the word out. And what a massive success they have been. They have travelled to Baltimore, Washington DC, New York City, San Bernadino and most recently San Diego playing the same act as a pimp and a prostitute looking for housing. Clearly, the ACORN employees were well versed in manipulating the system, even if it meant aiding and abetting criminal behavior. Things got really good in San Bernadino California, where the Tresa Kaelke (ACORN employee) admitted on camera to killing her husband, effectively illustrating her street cred to the “hooker” Giles and her “pimp” O’Keefe.  Sean Hannity got the scoop tonight on the newest video to come out, which happened in San Diego. Take a look at the interview with Breitbart and Giles, along with the newest damning video evidence.

Its simply amazing. Even though to look at them, it would seem there would be no way they could pull off the act, they apparently have convinced ACORN employees across the country, even so much as to get a solicitation from the San Diego representative.

This recent scam, which was attempted in San Diego, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Philadelphia to name a few places, had failed for months before the results we’ve all recently seen.
-Bertha Lewis, Chief Organizer, ACORN

Sorry Bertha, it doesn’t look like they failed. It looks like ACORN has been exposed.

THE FALLOUT

And boy has there ever been some fallout. Shortly after the release of the Baltimore video, Senator Johans (R-NE) added an ammendment to HR3288 which is the Transportation, Housing and Urban Development, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, 2010. Senate ammendment 2355 cut funding to ACORN, and was passed in overwhelming fashion, 83-7. Believe it or not, yes there were 7 who voted to continue funding ACORN. They are as follows:

NAYs —7
Burris (D-IL)
Casey (D-PA)
Durbin (D-IL)
Gillibrand (D-NY)
Leahy (D-VT)
Sanders (I-VT)
Whitehouse (D-RI

I know that I am not surprised by this list. Burris and Durbin jump out at me though, as likely being deeply connected with this organization, as they hail from the very center of government corruption in America, the great state of Illinois.

Also, in the days following ACORNs new found (albeit unwanted) fame, the US Census Bureau decided to cut ties with ACORN as well.  Ben Smith at Politico points out…

The latest ACORN expose, in which a conservative producer and his partner got two ACORN employees to give him advice on running his prostitution business and evading taxes with their underage Latin American prostitutes (really) has dealt the organization a final blow as far as the Obama administration is concerned: The Census has chosen to stop working with the group, with Census Director Robert Groves writing ACORN President Maude Hurd that public “concern” about the group has become “a distraction from our mission” and that recent events — an apparent reference to the expose — has “added to worsening negative perceptions of ACORN.”.

Conspicuously absent in this whole process has been the mainstream media. This expose from Giles and O’Keefe has exposed ACORN for who they really are (1 or 2 times coincidence, 5 is a pattern, sorry ACORN), but it has also exposed the inept main stream media for who they really are as well. They have been all but silent, other than MSNBC and CNN blasting these radical conservative 20-somethings who are on a witch hunt, following the right-wing obsession with ACORN. Actually MSM, they are doing your job…real investigative journalism.  Check out the piece MSNBC put out, including an interview with ACORN CEO Bertha Lewis. Tell me after watching this there isn’t some sort of leftist bias and radical agenda from this news organization. Its so thick in this segment, it cannot be missed.

Visit msnbc.com for Breaking News, World News, and News about the Economy

Classic MSNBC…I was actually waiting for Rachel Madcow or Keith Olbermann to rush the stage and start up with one of their inane right-wing demonizing rants. One can dream I suppose.

I will end with this. We should all lift these two patriots up in our prayers, as the media and this organization has threatened them with lawsuits and other smears, and I’m sure its just a matter of time before more serious threats are levied in their directions. With a little creativity, they have accomplished what millions of decent Americans were hoping for, which is effectively bring down the largest “social justice” aka socialist community organizations in the country. Their website uses this social and economic justice double speak in its “ABOUT” section. Too bad the American public is awake now to what that term actually means.

It will be interesting to see more of the fallout in the coming days and weeks. Potential Congressional investigations into lawmakers ties with this group would be appropriate, and let us not forget that the Obama administration and campaigns have been intricately involved with ACORN. It was after all his first job out of college! Already the White House has thrown ACORN under the bus, by attempting to distance itself from the group. But the American public already knows better than that. Its their typical modus operandi to sell out their friends when times get tough.

Maxine Waters: Probe the birthers and teabaggers

commiemaxinewaters1This woman is pure class and dignity.

Race-baiting socialist Congresswoman from California Maxine Waters told Bill Press today on his radio show that she wanted all the “teabaggers and birthers” interviewed so that we can expose our own racism. Supposedly if you put us all in front of a camera, we are going to show our true colors (pun intended). Waters joins the ever growing list of race baiting politicians, leftists, pundits and Hollywood actors all crying wolf on the issue of racism in America. It does exist, however not on the all encompassing scale that these fools apparently believe.

From the Hill.

The media should investigate the racial views of conservative activists like the ones who descended on Washington last weekend, one liberal congresswoman said Wednesday.

Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) said that it’s not enough for African-Americans to levy allegations of racism against the right-leaning protesters, and that the media must look into their views.

“I want those people talked to; I want them interviewed,” Waters told the liberal Bill Press Radio show in a podcast. “I want journalists to be all over those rallies and the marches with the birthers and the teabaggers.”

Maxine Waters shows her classless side by even using the term teabaggers, which of course we all know to be a vulgar and crude sexual reference, the term coined shortly after the first major round of teaparties on April 15.

Martin Luther King had a dream for equality. People like Maxine Waters are turning that dream of equality into a nightmare by consistently playing a race card that doesn’t exist. If Ms. Waters would have done even a little bit of homework on the subject, she would have been acutely aware of the fact that the 9/12 March on DC was targetted at Congress (hence, the rally on the Capitol lawn) and not the President. Yes, we disagree on the Presidents policies, but Congress has been the facilitator of his socialist agenda for 8 months now. Pelosi, Reid, Frank, Dodd, Hoyer, Dingell, Kennedy et all are WHITE FOLKS. Apparently this now means that all the teaparty protesters and 9/12 marchers apparently hate white people. Maxine, your logic is illogical.

In closing, Ms Waters I have some advice for you. You better get your 2010 campaign staff assembled early, and make sure it is a well oiled machine. Your stupidity and socialist elitist mentality will have you joining your constituents in the unemployment lines.

How much is enough? Just a little more

All Obama, All day long.

Avoid your television set America, or better yet go to church, on Sunday morning. Obama is taking to your airwaves in an unprecedented (and frankly ridiculous) blitz on the Sunday morning talk shows.

obamaPresident Barack Obama will grace the masses en masse Sunday morning by appearing on This Week with George Stephanapoulos on ABC, Meet the Press on NBC, and Face the Nation on CBS. Assuming you miss any of those three, fear not because our fearless commander-in-chief will be hitting softballs out of the park with interviews on CNN as well as…get this…Univision. Yes, Spanish language television to reach out to that trusty Hispanic constituency. Fox apparently got the snub in this blitz, you go ahead and figure out the reason for that on your own.

Did you think I was done? Well, no…I’m not because President Obama will next be taking the act to the Big Apple to appear on Late Show with David Lettermen. Yes, that is another unprecedented move by a sitting US President. In this case its ok though, because at least it isn’t a part of the Sunday blitzkrieg. You will be able to get the afternoon Obama-free, until the Monday news cycle airs re-runs of every inane lie, half-truth, vaguery, and forked-tongue comment he makes from Sunday. Monday night, its party time on Lettermen. Graciously, Lettermen will devote the entire show to the President, at which time we can expect the teleprompter to teleprompt all the normal talking points that we have heard for 2 months now on healthcare.

Overexposure anyone? I’m thinking this new White House strategy equates to a battle of attrition. Whoever can speak the loudest and longest wins (at least they hope so). Miscalculation though, because the American people (yes, that would be the majority of Americans) are a stubborn lot that are no longer being bought by flowery words and sunshine and kittens promises. You have been overexposed Mr. President, do yourself a favor and head towards the Oval Office and work on that plan you keep touting. Yes, the one that does not yet exist. The plan promises alot, and now the citizens of this great land would like to see your plan.

I’m all ears for that!

We are all Racists (didn’t ya know?)

Here is a letter to the editor published in the Detroit Free Press today. It about says it all.

Thank goodness for Mitch Albom! Without him I’d have never known I was a racist.

Here, I thought that I disagreed with the president’s policies because he nationalized some of the largest corporations in America (e.g. numerous banks, GM, Chrysler etc).
I thought that I disagreed with him because he has quadrupled the national debt and because he now wants to take over nearly 10% more of the US economy under the guise of fixing healthcare.

I thought that watching co-workers getting laid off by the dozen, and seeing my friends and neighbors lose their jobs as federal unemployment reaches 10% was reason enough to disagree with the President. Now I know better.

Thanks to reading Mitch’s Sept. 13 column (”Yell at Obama a new low but not the last”), I now know that the reason I disagree with the president is that I’m actually a racist.

At first this news made me feel bad, but then Mitch pointed out that it wasn’t really my fault; it’s the fault of talk radio and cable TV (I should have known that I’m not bright enough to form my own opinions).

I now know that only Mitch’s talk radio show should be considered palatable.

Thanks again, Mitch, for straightening me out on this!

This concerned citizen from Michigan (apparently a racist, he now  knows it lol) wrote this in response to Mitch Alboms column published on September 13 in the Free Press where he arrogantly declared that disagreement with policy and ideology actually have nothing to do with policy and ideology. It stems from a deeper need to use the “N” word for a black President, and since we can’t do that, we can use the more socially acceptable terms such as anarchist, socialist, communist etc.

483px-joe_wilson_official_photo_portrait_colorThe premise of his argument is tied to the Rep. Joe Wilson story, which of course we have all heard by now the two words heard ’round the world. YOU LIE!  An amazing sentence, a tiny sentence, but a sentence that apparently is not to be used in the Congress of the United States of America. Certainly not during the middle of a speech that was in fact laced with half-truths, deception, and vagueries. Yes, we know that in the bill it says that your not to be able to get the public option if you are an illegal resident. But the following paragraphs and pages leave loopholes so large that a Mack truck could drive through it. No coverage for illegals, but absolutely no check system in place to acheive that statement. In essence, a half-truth or as my mother told me as a child. A  LIE.

For his lack of decorum in the joint session of Congress, Rep. Wilson did in fact apologize to the President. He acknowledged that he was in error by interrupting his speech (frankly, I disagree…if cheers from Dems are ok, why is dissent not ok?).  The President accepted his apology, effectively ending the story right? No, not even close. The silliness has only just begun. Fundraising for Wilsons upcoming election opponent spiked to amazing levels, as he was demonized by the DailyKos kooks, and the faux intellectualism of many lefty reporters. He was a racist, he didn’t disagree with Obama’s statement…he hated the fact that a black man delivered it. Its ludicrous. Race baiters across the country have apparently united to form a wall of separation around this President, to make sure he does not encounter any policy disagreements. After all, it only means your racist right?

So, in its typical useless form, the House undertook the unprecedented step of passing a resolution of disapproval for Rep. Wilsons behavior. It has never been done. It was a monumental waste of time.

The 240-179 vote on the resolution of disapproval reflected the sharp partisan divide over the issue. Democrats insisted that the South Carolina Republican take responsibility for what they said was a serious breach of decorum. Republicans characterized the vote as a political stunt.

Wilson himself would not back down on his position that he owed the House no apology. Surrounded by Republican supporters, Wilson said Obama had “graciously accepted my apology and the issue is over.”

Thank God for journalists like Megyn Kelly, who have been blessed with a measure of common sense and decency.

Here is a doozy from a man who has historically been proven to be one of, if not the most inept of this countries former Presidents. A man who cannot seem to take himself out of the news cycle and stop embarrassing himself. Oh Jimmy Carter, please stop it. You are becoming painful to swallow.

Wait, but Wilson isn’t the only racist in town. Over a million protesters took to Pennsylvania Avenue marching to the Capitol to put our racism on display for the world…I mean, everyone saw the pictures of the Patriots in their white hoods right? No..you didn’t. But the attempt to marginalize and demonize the outpouring of anger over government (if you were there, you would know that the majority of anger was aimed at the Congress, not the President).

Racism is a weak argument. You cannot debate the merits, you can’t defend the Presidents indefensable policy. His mindset, his history, his associations, and his actions in the office of the President of the United States are admittedly progressive, which is merely double speak for socialist. Wait, according to Mitch Albom, that statement must be my inner racist coming out again. Ridiculous. Debate the facts.

Astroturf? I think not

If you look close, you can see the Political Fish at the front of the march leading the patriots down Pennsylvania Avenue. It amuses me the estimates putting the crowd at 60K people. I will post pictures soon (Just got back in town, cut me some slack) but the photographic evidence is pretty clear. A million at least I would say. Some have put the number as high as 2.4 million. This time lapsed video shows an absolutely massive amount of people streaming down Pennsylvania Avenue for 3 hours. Use your own judgement, but if you have ever been to a football game, you know what 60k people looks like. This crowd dwarfs any crowd seen at a professional sporting event.
