Fox News interview with Obama

Brett Baier should be given the Pulitzer Prize for journalism because of this interview. The video is approximately 19 minutes long in case you missed it.
Here is part 1 of the interview speaking on the subject of health care and procedure.

Part 2 of the Fox news interview with President Obama touching on foreign policy.

President Obama: “I don’t spend a lot of time worrying about what the procedural rules are in the House or Senate. What I can tell you is that the vote that’s taken in the House will be a vote for health care reform. And if people vote yes, whatever form that takes, that is going to be a vote for health care reform. And I don’t think we should pretend otherwise. And if they don’t, if they vote against it, then they’re going to be voting against health care reform and they’re going to be voting in favor of the status quo. So Washington gets very concerned with these procedures in congress, whether republicans are in charge or democrats are in charge

Rep. Paul Broun: Pelosi arrogant, ignorant, incompetent

The gloves have finally come off on the GOP side. Representative Paul Broun, a Georgia physician threw a verbal haymaker at the House Speaker today at a press conference following the passage of the “Slaughter Rule” in the House.

“I have three simple questions Ms Pelosi,” said Rep. Paul Broun, R-Ga. “Are you so arrogant that you think you know what’s best for the American people? Are you so ignorant that you are oblivious to the wishes of the American people? And are you so incompetent that you are going to ignore the Constitution of the United States, use tricks, deceptions, bald faced lies to try to ram down the throat of the American people something that they do not want and is going to be absolutely worse for their healthcare?…”

It seems that the GOP has finally realized that the far left in this country will be playing by a different set of rules. And if those rules don’t work, they will “Slaughter” another set of rules.

Pence: America, we can win this fight!

“This is a remarkable moment in the life of our nation. After years of runaway federal spending, deficits, debt, borrowing, bailouts and takeovers, against the opposition of a clear majority of the American people, the Democrats in Congress and in this administration are prepared to ram through a $1 trillion government takeover of health care.

“It’s just hard to believe. Ignoring the will of the American people, twisting the rules of the House and the Senate into a pretzel, we are headed for a showdown this weekend. But I got to tell you, I like our chances.

“The reason House Democrats don’t have the votes is because the American people know this is a government takeover of health care. Mandating that every American purchase health insurance whether they want it or need it or not, passing hundreds of billions of dollars in job-killing tax increases, providing public funding for abortions, and setting into motion government-run insurance that will cost millions to lose the insurance they have is a government takeover of health care.

“Let’s have the debate. A minority in Congress plus the American people equals a majority. America, we can win this fight.”

This is the make or break moment for our country. Will we succumb to those who have hated what makes this country great, or will the American people squash this out of control Congress and put an end to this healthcare reform charade. This is the weekend that will determine where we will go.

States start rejecting ObamaCare en masse

The Obama administration and the far left Congress are creating a showdown between the Federal government and the individual states.

The State of Idaho has become the first to have a bill passed in its state legislature and signed by the Governor rejecting the federal mandate in the health care bill that would require its citizens to purchase health insurance. 37 other states have similar measures pending.  From the AP.

BOISE, Idaho — Idaho took the lead in a growing, nationwide fight against health care overhaul Wednesday when its governor became the first to sign a measure requiring the state attorney general to sue the federal government if residents are forced to buy health insurance.

Similar legislation is pending in 37 other states.

Constitutional law experts say the movement is mostly symbolic because federal laws supersede those of the states.

But the state measures reflect a growing frustration with President President Barack Obama’s health care overhaul. The proposal would cover some 30 million uninsured people, end insurance practices such as denying coverage to those with pre-existing conditions, require almost all Americans to get coverage by law, and try to slow the cost of medical care nationwide.

Democratic leaders hope to vote on it this weekend.

With Washington closing in on a deal in the months-long battle over health care overhaul, Republican state lawmakers opposed to the measure are stepping up opposition.

Otter, a Republican, said he believes any future lawsuit from Idaho has a legitimate shot of winning, despite what the naysayers say.

“The ivory tower folks will tell you, ‘No, they’re not going anywhere,’ ” he told reporters. “But I’ll tell you what, you get 36 states, that’s a critical mass. That’s a constitutional mass.”

Last week, Virginia legislators passed a measure similar to Idaho’s new law, but Otter was the first state chief executive to sign such a bill, according to the American Legislative Exchange Council, which created model legislation for Idaho and other states. The Washington, D.C.,-based nonprofit group promotes limited government.

Update:

Virginia Attorney Generals office has confirmed that it will in fact sue the federal government. Recently elected AG Ken Cuccinelli wrote a letter to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, courtesy of the Washington Post.

March 17, 2010 The Honorable Nancy Pelosi Speaker of the United States House of Representatives Office of the Speaker H-232, U.S. Capitol Washington, D.C. Dear Speaker Pelosi: I am writing to urge you not to proceed with the Senate Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act under a so-called “deem and pass” rule because such a course of action would raise grave constitutional questions. Based upon media interviews and statements which I have seen, you are considering this approach because it might somehow shield members of Congress from taking a recorded vote on an overwhelmingly unpopular Senate bill. This is an improper purpose under the bicameralism requirements of Article I, Section 7 of the U.S. Constitution, one of the purposes of which is to make our representatives fully accountable for their votes. Furthermore, to be validly enacted, the Senate bill would have to be accepted by the House in a form that is word-for-word identical (Clinton v. City of New York, 524 U.S. 417 (1998)). Should you employ the deem and pass tactic, you expose any act which may pass to yet another constitutional challenge. A bill of this magnitude should not be passed using this maneuver. As the President noted last week, the American people are entitled to an up or down vote. Sincerely, Kenneth T. Cuccinelli, II Attorney General of Virginia

Congressional bribe to benefit Hawaii earthquake victims

Ok, I very much consider myself a news junkie. It’s bordering on an obsession of mine. So, how did I miss the earthquake that struck Hawaii??

I didn’t. The mindless power grab of the Obama administration continues. Quick, get that man a teleprompter!!

Fox News: OBAMA: I am certain that we’ve made sure, for example, that any burdens on states are alleviated, when it comes to what they’re going to have to chip in to make sure that we’re giving subsidies to small businesses, and subsidies to individuals, for example. BAIER: So the Connecticut deal is still in? OBAMA: So that’s not — that’s not going to be something that is going to be in this final package. I think the same is true on all of these provisions. I’ll give you some exceptions though. Something that was called a special deal was for Louisiana. It was said that there were billions — millions of dollars going to Louisiana, this was a special deal. Well, in fact, that provision, which I think should remain in, said that if a state has been affected by a natural catastrophe, that has created a special health care emergency in that state, they should get help. Louisiana, obviously, went through Katrina, and they’re still trying to deal with the enormous challenges that were faced because of that. (CROSS TALK) OBAMA: That also — I’m giving you an example of one that I consider important. It also affects Hawaii, which went through an earthquake. So that’s not just a Louisiana provision. That is a provision that affects every state that is going through a natural catastrophe. Now I have said that there are certain provisions, like this Nebraska one, that don’t make sense. And they needed to be out. And we have removed those. So, at the end of the day, what people are going to be able to say is that this legislation is going to be providing help to small businesses and individuals, across the board, in an even handed way, and providing people relief from a status quo that’s just not working. BAIER: OK, the Florida deal, in or out? OBAMA: The Florida deal — BAIER: Paying for Medicare Advantage, exempting 800,000 Floridians from — OBAMA: My understanding is that whatever is going to be done on Medicare is going to apply across the board to all states.

The disarray of the Democrat leadership all the way up to the top is staggering. He clearly does not have any idea what he is talking about on these issues. That may be due to the fact that this is not about healthcare reform, it’s about the power that Washington will hold over the citizens of this land if this bill passes.

The Hawaii earthquake. Another example of the mindlessness flowing out of Washington DC.

Rep Van Hollen: Americans don’t need to know the process

Van HollenA disturbing memo circulating among the Democrat leadership was leaked this past weekend by Politico detailing a timeline for the ObamaCare bill, as well as the fact that the American public should not be privy to how the bill gets passed.

Shut up and deal with it America. We will pass it by any means necessary, including subverting the processes put in place.

This type of behavior is telling of the Democrat majorities motivation to remake this Republic at all cost. Its not the crown jewel of ObamaCare…its the power to do what they will no matter what. Its a tempting treat for the majority party and one that cannot and will not be allowed by the American people. We still love our freedom no matter how many freebies you think you can throw at us. Here is the memo published from Politico. You must read it. You must understand what these people are all about. Representative Chris Van Hollen (D-MD) everyone.

The Van Hollen memo also advised members to avoid talking about the process.

“At this point, we have to just rip the band-aid off and have a vote — up or down; yes or no? Things like reconciliation and what the rules committee does is INSIDE BASEBALL,” the memo says. “People who try and start arguments about process on this are almost always against the actual policy substance too, often times for purely political reasons.”

Leadership expects a CBO score on the reconciliation package by today or Monday. No decisions have been made on how the final process will unfold on the House floor, the memo says. So it appears Democrats are still grappling with whether they can use the process to pass the Senate bill without voting directly on the bill. Many Democrats view the Senate bill’s deals and policies as a toxic political mix that they would rather not endorse without first making changes to it.

Finally, the memo recommends staffers put together in-district events during the Easter recess where their lawmakers can highlight all the immediate benefits reform would provide.

Full memo after the jump.

UPDATE: A Van Hollen aide says that the memo went out to the district directors of freshmen and sophomore members who were fielding questions about timing and procedure and were looking for scheduling guidance.

Hi all –

Attached and below are some good resources to get through the health care push next week.

Here is my best guess on timeline but as always this is Congress so it could all change very quickly:

TODAY or MONDAY: CBO will publish final scores on legislative language

THEN: House Budget Committee must approve using the reconciliation process to pass this

THEN: The bill will go to the Rules Committee, rule will be constructed for consideration on the floor, and language will be posted online (on the Rules website) and the 72-hour clock will start. When this happens, we will start to have a better idea on what the process will be.

THEN: A Manager’s Amendment will be constructed that will make some final changes

THEN: The Manager’s Amendment will be posted online and the 72-hour clock will start (this may overlap with the 72-hour clock on the reconciliation language). When Manager’s Amendment is done final process decisions will be locked in.

THIS MEANS: We will likely vote Friday or Saturday. (As you probably saw, POTUS pushed back the departure for his Asian trip from Thursday the 18th to Sunday the 21st; this was not a coincidence.) The Speaker has publically committed to trying to get a vote on both the reconciliation bill and the Senate bill on the same day. They are still trying to work out the final process on this and much of what we do depends on what the Senate Parliamentarian decides. You may be receiving calls about the “Slaughter Rule” and other rumors about what the process will be. Again, please understand: no decision has yet been made on the process for consideration on the House floor.

Key points:

1. I would have your Member’s schedule pretty clear for next weekend. They will either be here or exhausted (or both).

2. I continue to encourage all of you not to get into debates about process and to try and persuade your Member not to get into process arguments either. At this point, we have to just rip the band-aid off and have a vote — up or down; yes or no? Things like reconciliation and what the rules committee does is INSIDE BASEBALL. People who try and start arguments about process on this are almost always against the actual policy substance too, often times for purely political reasons.

3. Finally, I encourage you to study the final attached slide (#14) and give some thought to what your plan is post-vote, especially during Easter Work Period. If your Member is a yes, or might be a yes, I would lay the groundwork for some events to highlight the reforms that will quickly become law – no more donut hole, dependent children covered until 26, insurance access for those with pre-existing conditions, etc.

It was a private memo. It got leaked. And for that, Mr. Van Hollen should be removed from office immediately for openly calling for subversion tactics, and tactics to force legislation without the consent of the governed.

The definition of sleaze in Washington. Representative Chris Van Hollen.

Does anyone remember the email address set up by the White House where the American public was instructed to snitch on their fellow citizen for spreading “misinformation”? I do…it was Flag@Whitehouse.gov.

Yes…3000 percent drop in insurance premiums everyone.

Sounds like a bit of misinformation to me. In the words of Fox News…I report you decide. But lets see first what the American Thinker has to say.

Monday in Strongsville, Ohio, President Obama said that ObamaCare will reduce health insurance premiums by “3,000 percent.” Considering that a 50 percent decrease in premiums would mean that we’d be paying half as much as we now pay for health insurance and that a 100 percent decrease in premiums would mean that we’d be paying nothing for health insurance, President Obama is telling us that insurance companies will actually start paying us money to keep our health insurance.

If your current  health insurance policy costs $5,000 a year, insurance companies will pay you $145,000 a year (2,900 percent multiplied by $5,000). If you’re fortunate enough to be paying $25,000 a year for health insurance, insurance companies will pay you $725,000 a year. There’s no word whether you can purchase a more expensive health insurance policy to increase the amount of money that insurers pay you each year.

Political virginI guess when the facts are working against you, you should always revert to the WOW factor. 3000%……wow!

If the President really believed any of the garbage he is spewing about his agenda and his push to nationalize the health care industry, he should get off the teleprompter and speak from the heart. It cannot be done. It is not a passionate idea for him, it is merely a power grab. A power grab that I might add is being vehemently resisted by the American public. We will not allow it to happen, and if you make it happen without the consent of the governed public, we are endowed by our Constitution to dispose of this government. I would add to that statement by any means necessary…to quote the illustrious Nancy Pelosi.

These people are a joke. A bad joke. Unfortunately our great nation is the butt of this joke. But not for long.

The Auschwitz Album

This is not typical of what I would post on this blog as far as your typical political rant or story of the day. However, I stumbled across this website today and felt compelled to share this bit of history with all the Political Fish readers. History and politics are intricately interwoven and a fresh look back at history will surely affect your current view of the world today.

Israels Yad Vashem posted the Auschwitz Album on its website for the world to get an even closer look at the evil that took place there. Here is an excerpt from the introduction to the album.

The Auschwitz Album is the only surviving visual evidence of the process of mass murder at Auschwitz-Birkenau. It is a unique document and was donated to Yad Vashem by Lilly Jacob-Zelmanovic Meier.

The photos were taken at the end of May or beginning of June 1944, either by Ernst Hofmann or by Bernhard Walter, two SS men whose task was to take ID photos and fingerprints of the inmates (not of the Jews who were sent directly to the gas chambers). The photos show the arrival of Hungarian Jews from Carpatho-Ruthenia. Many of them came from the Berehovo Ghetto, which itself was a collecting point for Jews from several other small towns.

Early summer 1944 was the apex of the deportation of Hungarian Jewry. For this purpose a special rail line was extended from the railway station outside the camp to a ramp inside Auschwitz. Many of the photos in the album were taken on the ramp. The Jews then went through a selection process, carried out by SS doctors and wardens. Those considered fit for work were sent into the camp, where they were registered, deloused and distributed to the barracks. The rest were sent to the gas chambers. They were gassed under the guise of a harmless shower, their bodies were cremated and the ashes were strewn in a nearby swamp. The Nazis not only ruthlessly exploited the labor of those they did not kill immediately, they also looted the belongings the Jews brought with them. Even gold fillings were extracted from the mouths of the dead by a special detachment of inmates. The personal effects the Jews brought with them were sorted by inmates and stored in an area referred to by the inmates as “Canada”: the ultimate land of plenty.

I highly recommend you click the link and visit this stirring tribute and reminder of the Holacaust.

May this world NEVER revisit the days of this kind of evil. Keep your knowledge of history fresh insomuch that we will not be doomed to repeat it.

Just as the healthcare drama in the capitol reaches a grand finale, congressional officials are warning employees to avoid the DRUDGE REPORT!

The Senate’s Committee on Environment and Public Works issued an urgent email late Monday claiming the DRUDGE REPORT is ‘responsible for the many viruses popping up throughout the Senate.’

The committee ordered hill staff: ‘Try to avoid’ the DRUDGE REPORT ‘for now’.

On Monday DRUDGE served over 29 million pages with NOT ONE email complaint received about ‘pop ups’, or the site serving ‘viruses’.

The site was seen 149,967 times since March 1st from users at senate.gov and 244,347 times at house.gov. [10,825 visits from the White House, eop.gov]

Nigerian Muslims slaughter 500 Christians

GRAPHIC – WARNING

Religion of peace we are told. Apparently not on Sunday.

Dogo Nahawa

That was when gangs of Muslim herders stormed a village in central Nigeria, opened fire into the air. When the villagers came out into the streets to see the commotion, the herders hacked to death this village of Christians with machetes, slaughtering at least 300 innocent men women and children with estimates up to 500.

Nigerian funeral

(Reuters) – Villagers in central Nigeria buried dozens of bodies, including those of women and children, in a mass grave on Monday after attacks in which several hundred people were feared to have been killed.

Mass grave nigeria

From AFP - Apparently the Religion of Peace had their warriors screaming “Allahu Ahkbar” as they slaughtered, hacked and burned the villagers for no other reason than for being Christian..aka not Muslims.

JOS, Nigeria (AFP) – UN chief Ban Ki-moon and Washington led calls for restraint on Monday after the slaughter of more than 500 Christians in Nigeria, as survivors told how the killers chopped down their victims.

Funerals took place for victims of the three-hour orgy of violence on Sunday in three Christian villages close to the northern city of Jos, blamed on members of the mainly Muslim Fulani ethnic group.

While troops were deployed to the villages to prevent new attacks, security forces detained 95 suspects but faced bitter criticism over how the killers were able to go on the rampage at a time when a curfew was meant to be in force.

Media reported that Muslim residents of the villages in Plateau state had been warned by phone text message, two days prior to the attack, so they could make good their escape before the exit points were sealed off.

Survivors said the attackers were able to separate the Fulanis from members of the rival Berom group by chanting ‘nagge’, the Fulani word for cattle. Those who failed to respond in the same language were hacked to death.

One local paper said the gangs shouted Allah Akhbar (God is Great) before breaking into homes and setting them alight in the early hours of Sunday. Churches were among the buildings that were burned down.

The Vatican led a wave of outrage with spokesman Federico Lombardi expressing the Roman Catholic Church’s “sadness” at the “horrible acts of violence“.

Burned village

Let us pray now for these innocent people and their loved ones who suffered this atrocity for their faith at the hands of barbaric murderers.

Is the Pentagon shooter a righty or a lefty?

john-patrick-bedellWho cares???

It is bordering on near insanity these days when there is some sort of domestic attack, whether it be Joe Stack flying into the IRS building or John Patrick Bedell opening fire at the Pentagon Metro station, to fly into this name calling from the right or from the left. Was he a 9/11 Truther nutjob?? Was he a tree hugging liberal anarchist? Was he left? Was he right??

Here is the answer plain and simple. He was neither. He was a criminal loon launching an attack on our nation.

Rational people from the right and from the left can disagree on issues. It is to be expected.  But a simple google search  of the term “Pentagon Shooter” turns up a vast array of posts commenting on the rightiness or the leftiness of Mr. Bedell all the while ignoring the fact of the matter that it doesn’t matter. Mr. Bedell was insane. Clinically insane. The fact of the matter is that he came from California and was out of his mind. He came to launch an attack on the United States Military Headquarters. That is insane. Period.

He was a registered Democrat yes, but he was also in line with his writings of alot of the signs that you would see at a Tea Party. So what was he?? He was nuts. Period.

James Joyner from the blog Outside the Beltway sums it up best. Hopefully this stupidity will go away. Check out his site, he writes a great article on this subject.

Can we please stop with the political name-calling whenever one of these nuts goes off?

Look, we’re a big country.  There are over 300 million of us.  Almost everyone holds a position or two that’s way off the charts and a whole lot of people believe in 9/11 Trutherism, black helicopters, and all the rest.  Less than a handful of those people are out trying to kill people.    However stupid or loathesome a political view may be, the fact that some nut also holds it adds nothing to the counter-argument.

Iraq holds largest election in her history; Intimidation shunned

The Political Fish would like to thank George W. Bush for doing what was unpopular in the progressive leftist minds and boldly bringing freedom to the good people of Iraq. And a special thank you to the brave men and women of the United States Military for going and bravely executing the plan to bring these men and women the freedom they deserve. Those who have died in the fight will not have died for naught, even as I write this I am humbled to put these words out there.

Today, Iraqis celebrated that freedom by holding the largest election in the nations history, with over 3000 candidates on the ballot.

Brave Iraqi citizens turned out (the total number is still unclear) despite the threat of attacks from freedom hating terrorists, and despite 38 being killed in a series of bomb blasts designed to derail todays election.

Iraqi authorities said dozens of mortar and rocket attacks rattled Baghdad during the early hours of polling, although Defense Secretary Robert Gates said 80 percent of the explosions heard in the capital were believed to be noise bombs.

In the deadliest incident, 25 people were killed when an explosion destroyed a three-storey Baghdad apartment block. Rescuers pulled bodies from the rubble as a woman buried under debris screamed to be saved.

“It is terrible that lives have been lost, but it doesn’t change the course of the Iraqis,” said Ad Melkert, the U.N. special representative to Iraq. “There will be issues, but they are serious elections and many Iraqis have participated with great conviction.”

Iraq’s Independent High Electoral Commission said only two polling stations had to be closed briefly for security reasons.

The Islamic State of Iraq, an al Qaeda affiliate, had warned Iraqis not to vote and vowed to attack those who defied them.

The 96,000 U.S. troops still in Iraq stayed in the background, underscoring the waning American role in Iraq, but U.S. helicopter gunships provided aerial support.

Aswat Aliraq reported via Gatewaypundit on todays historic election.

BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: Voting centers closed their doors at 05:00 p.m. on Sunday, capping the largest election ever in the history of Iraq, where nearly 19 million voters from the nation’s 18 provinces picked their favorites amongst 6200 candidates to occupy the new parliament’s 325 seats.

Nearly 10,000 voting centers comprising 52,000 stations closed their doors amidst acts of violence that claimed the lives of more than 24 Iraqis and wounded 10 others who have been casting their votes since 07:00 a.m. today (March 7).

The new parliament is comprised of 325 seats: 68 from Baghdad, 31 from Ninewa, 24 Basra, 18 Thi-Qar, 17 Sulaimaniya, 16 Babel, 14 Arbil, 14 Anbar, 13 Diala and 12 seats for each of Kirkuk, Salah al-Din and Najaf and 11 for Wassit and Diwaniya while Missan, Duhuk, Karbala and Missan will get 10 seats and Muthanna only 7.

American Taliban captured??

gadahn

There appears to be conflicting reports out today as to the capture of treasonous American Taliban Adam Gadahn. From the AP this afternoon.

KARACHI, Pakistan – The American-born spokesman for al-Qaida has been arrested by Pakistani intelligence officers in the southern city of Karachi, two officers and a government official said Sunday as video emerged of him urging U.S. Muslims to attack their own country.

The arrest of Adam Gadahn represents a major victory in the U.S.-led battle against al-Qaida and will be taken as a sign that Pakistan, criticized in the past for being an untrustworthy ally, is cooperating more fully with Washington. It follows the recent detentions of several Afghan Taliban commanders in Karachi, including the movement’s No. 2 commander.

U.S. officials did not immediately confirm Gadahn’s capture.

Gadahn has appeared in more than half a dozen al-Qaida videos, taunting and threatening the West and calling for its destruction. A U.S. court charged Gadahn with treason in 2006, making him the first American to face such a charge in more than 50 years.

He was arrested in the sprawling southern metropolis of Karachi in recent days, two officers who took part in the operation said. A senior government official also confirmed the arrest, but said it happened Sunday. The discrepancy could not immediately be resolved.

They spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to release the information.

The first report released from the AP was at approximately 4:30 EST. CBS released the following about an hour after, citing confusion over the militants identity and stating that the arrest was in fact not Adam Gadahn.

An “important Taliban militant” was arrested today in Pakistan. But that is where the confusion started.

Earlier it was reported by Pakistani media that intelligence agents had arrested Adam Gadahn, the American-born spokesman for al Qaeda, in an operation in the southern city of Karachi.

It was further reported by the Associated Press and Reuters that Gadahn had been arrested, sourcing security officials.

CBS News was told by sources in the Pakistan government that it was Gadahn, even after U.S. officials refused to confirm it was the California native for whom a $1 million reward has been posted.

Now, CBS News’ Farhan Bokhari in Islamabad writes that earlier reports the detained individual was Gadahn proved false. According to a Pakistan security official who spoke with CBS News on condition of anonymity, the arrested individual is in fact “a Taliban militant leader who is known as Abu Yahya.”

The official said evidence compiled from an interrogation of the suspect and information exchanged with U.S. officials verified the man’s identify.

The reassessment only added to the confusion surrounding the arrest of a man earlier described by other unnamed Pakistani security officials as Gadahn.

“In the light of our latest information, I can say, this is not looking like Gadahn. But it is still the arrest of an important Taliban militant,” said the Pakistani security official who spoke to CBS News late Sunday.

Looks like confusion is reigning the day on this story. Adam Gadahn for those who are not aware is the American-born spokesperson for Al-Qaeda, who has been prominently featured in numerous propaganda videos railing against the United States and calling for its destruction. Most recently, Gadahn released a video praising the Fort Hood massacre by Major Nidal Hassan. Hassan of course went on a shooting rampage at the largest US military facility and murdered 14 people on November 5, 2009.

JammieWearingFool has continuous updates on the story and other rumors surrounding it.

Updates Here (Samaa News), Here (Dawn.com). Many others are reporting the capture. We will have to wait for the US Military to confirm it is Adam Gadahn. From the GateWayPundit, here is a video of Gadahn from a few years back. HotAir says bummer, wasn’t him.

This man is a traitor and should be executed as such. Let’s just hope it does end up being Adam Gadahn who was captured today in Karachi.

SNL mocks “deeply unpopular” healthcare bill

“President Obama” goes after Harry Reid as well in the press conference on the healthcare bill. Reid “not the most intelligenic or charismatic guy around” acknowledges humbly that he may still lose. Check it out from HotairPundit.

Angry mob unpopular, couldn’t have said it any better myself!

Obama: “Now Senator Reid I’ll admit is in a different situation, he’s up for re-election this fall where health care is especially unpopular,I’m not sure why but it is, really, really unpopular, angry mob unpopular. Lets be frank, Harry Reid could lose this November but let me make something clear, I don’t think he will or at least it won’t be because this unpopular bill.

Health care could poll at 100% and Harry Reid would still have problems, I think even Harry would agree he is not the most intelligenic or charismatic guy around. Plus he has been hurt by some of the sleazy deals he cut with other Senators in order to get health care passed, I mean you have to acknowledge they were sleazy, I mean the cornhusker kickback, it just smelled bad”

This folks, this is the Senate Majority Leader in the United States.

He is also an idiot.
