Boston Tea Party II – Scott Brown given the peoples seat

Scott Brown 2Did you feel it? Tonight the political earthquake that struck the Bay State has reverberated across the country. It was felt distinctly in the capitol of this great nation, Washington DC.

Scott Brown has been given the seat owned by the people of Massachusetts. They have spoken loud and clear in rejection of the Obama agenda, the Martha Coakley rubber stamp approach, and the progressive/repressive agenda of a government run wild.

The People have spoken.

Brown took the victory tonight by quite a wide margin. A shocking turn of events coming out of the bluest of the blue states, Massachusetts. Brown gains control of the seat formerly occupied by the late Senator Edward Kennedy, a seat that was the assumed possession of the first Democrat to come prancing across the stage. The people of Massachusetts have made their point. They DO believe in hope and change. Fortunately, its not the same drivel being peddled by this impotent administration, but believe in changing DC to put the federal government back in the hands of the people.

From Politico.

State Sen. Scott Brown won a stunning victory over Massachusetts Attorney General Martha Coakley Tuesday night, handing Republicans a 41st seat in the United States Senate and endangering health care reform by bringing an end to the Democrats’ 60-seat majority.

The Associated Press called the race for Brown as the Republican held a 53 percent to 46 percent edge over Coakley with more than 70 percent of precincts reporting. Coakley conceded defeat to Brown in a phone call shortly before the race was called.

Brown addressed a cheering crowd in Boston around 10:30 p.m., telling his exultant backers: “They can hear this cheering all the way in Washington D.C.”

“I hope they’re paying close attention, because tonight the independent voice of Massachusetts has spoken,” Brown said, holding up a copy of the Boston Herald with the headline: “He did it.”

Telling the crowd he received a phone call from President Obama, Brown alluded to his campaign ads featuring his pickup truck, which the president mocked in a campaign stop Sunday.

“When I spoke to the president, the first thing I said was, would you like me to drive the truck down to Washington so you can see it?” Brown said.

Tonight is a good night in America. A night where the citizenry of this great land took the first step in retrieving their nation from the sweaty palms of a federal government all to happy to take control.
