Sen. Ted Kennedy Dies at age 77
From the Associated Press:
HYANNIS PORT, Mass. (AP) – Massachusetts Sen. Edward M. Kennedy, the liberal lion of the Senate, has died after battling a brain tumor. He was 77.
Kennedy’s family announced his death in a brief statement released early Wednesday.
For nearly a half-century in the Senate, Kennedy was a dominant voice on health care, civil rights, war and peace, and more. To the American public, though, he was best known as the last surviving brother of a storied political family
Senator Kennedy bravely battled brain cancer since 2008, and has done everything in his power to be in the Senate for key votes. Say what you will about the man and his politics, and believe me I have much to say about his politics, you must admire his dedication to the cause, even when his cause differs greatly from our own. While you may find out in the blogosphere harsh words about the man and his politics, you will not find it here.
Out of respect for the Senator, I will not talk about his policies or his past, only to say rest in peace Senator Kennedy.
