The President dropping fast…
President Obama is running into major trouble trying to jam his health care legislation down the throats of the American public. He is running into a Congressional obstacle, surprisingly wanting to hold off on rushing this legislation through until a real bill can be put together that will actually be effective in overhauling the healthcare system. Strong oversight is needed, government takeover will be a catastrophe…Check out Bill O’reilly’s Talking points memo from tonight, this pretty much nails the situation on the head.
The USA Today published a Presidential approval tracker that currently puts President Obama as tracking behind the likes of President Carter at the same time in his administration, and actually lists President Obama as the third-least popular President in the last 60 years. Rasmussen polling also goes so far as to say that in their most recent poll, that Obama only carries a slight edge in a one on one matchup against Sarah Palin in 2012, and is in a dead heat with Mitt Romney in the 2012 election.
O’Reilly, like him or hate him, I believe says it best. Americans are not stupid. We know the healthcare system is broke. But it does not need a full blown takeover, especially one that is rushed and ill-prepared. Americans deserve better, and they are clearly making this President aware. Many protests have taken place around the country, Drudge has linked to multiple healthcare townhall meetings today that turned into citizens shouting down the Democrat footsoldiers trying to peddle their free healthcare for all plan. Americans do not want a government takeover, and we certainly do not need it. The number reflect this attitude.
